    Something For All name change...

This issue is not that big of a deal but I would just like to bring it up...

I think that the Something For All section should be renamed.
The name is quite contradictory to its actual purpose.

This is an intelligent debate/discussion forum.

    Therefore you must:
    - Backup your argument with reason
    - Make an effort to use good spelling and grammar.
    - Do not respond to spam posts. Please just report them, or pm an offtopic, or sfa mod and they will be dealt with.
    - Follow all normal Sythe rules except flaming is more strictly enforced and there is no such thing as gravedigging in this forum.

The above is an excerpt from the SFA forum rules sticky.
This section is not intended "For All"...it is intended for intelligence (intelligent people/discussion).

The "Something For All" name lures "All" into the section...and not "All" people read the SFA forum stickies (sadly sometimes even staff). Therefore, unnecessary/unintelligent/unwanted input leaks into and distracts intelligent conversation.

I just think the name should be changed, or its purpose somehow made more known.

    thanks.

You raise a point, actually. Though you're probably the first person to really notice it, and it's not worth it changing the name of the section, editing the rules to fit the new name, and remqking the rank for it.

The title of the section is not meant to invite all that come across it, but rather to advertise the diverse selection of topics contained within it. Such topics many appeal to many audiences. Hence, there is "something for all."

The SFA-specific regulations are clearly displayed so that no one should post ignorant to them.

    My opinion regarding the matter:
Something for All is aptly named. I have not religiously visited the section in quite a while, so I'm not aware of how strongly the rules within it affect posts by the members you're referring to. If they are being ignored beyond the point of tolerability, a more strict policy regarding posting may need to be put into action.

I think it's somewhat pessimistic to say that the restriction of "intelligent conversation" restricts some people from being welcomed to SFA. Everybody has the ability to be intelligent... some people just obviously choose not to be. At least this is my opinion.

I kind of like the title. Sythe is unique in that it is a multi-dynamic black market forum, yet the issues of everybody can be discussed in SFA. Yes, your point that it may not fit entirely has its merit, but I think it's an artful type of misfit.

I called it 'Controversial' on my forums, and would promote the same here... however, I'd miss 'SFA' acronym.

A name change may attract some new members for its rightful purpose... but it would be sad to see it be changed...
