Either that, or disable the ability to hide urls.

    Edit: Sorry, misread the title.

Just comes down to common sense really, if you see that someone has 10 post count and joined 3 days ago obviously don't go to / download a link.

Only downside is post count doesn't really establish trust. It just makes you look more trustworthy, I've seen people with 2k+ post get banned for scamming.

150 seems a good number but also many legit accounts do not have 150 posts

I would support also all 1 month old accounts or 2 can also posts links. This can allow chainbanning and you won't see proxy IP evading.

I support, the amount of new threads with misleading titles with phishing links is ridiculous. With this, such threads will probably only appear on hacked accounts as getting such a post count just for phishing is too much work.

I think the most logical method of resolving this issue would be for users to actually see where links direct them to before clicking, which can be done in many mainstream internet browsers. Even if the link appears to be safe, do not download any material that you might find unless you know it to be absolutely secure. A good number of users already do this, and those that do not should begin forming this habit. Overall, it promotes safe internet usage no matter what website you're on.

agreed but it would solve alot of these kids with fake "dung bots" or "auth code gens" or "runescapes already changing free trade phis"

imo someone with under 150 post does not need to post a link even if ligit if you think about it what are they going to post besides a download ?

They'll do it either way. Just use common sense to stay safe. Creating a minimum post count would create spam throughout the forum AND make the phisher look more legit.

Support, since the break out on free trade there has been a load of scammers signing up for only one intention and not to stick around.

complete support. a post requirement would definitely help cut down on scammers/spam, etc.

Disagree 100%. It would send spamming through the roof and make the phishers look more real. Plus it would most likely result in hacking sythe accounts to post the phishers.

You are the 10th person to post this, but I agree with you. And to scott, if there is a post limit, you get banned before you can post phisher for spam.

I'm surprised this wasn't implemented before. Almost every other large forum out there has a set post count required to post links and images. Especially with the extreme amounts of these phish/virus threads popping up all of a sudden.

If indeed people do spam to get a post count of 100, that's only going to be a small percentage of people, since I know if I personally was trying to get people to download my virus or get tricked by my phisher, I wouldn't bother getting 100 posts -- and if these hacker/phishers do attempt to spam to 100 posts, they'll for sure be banned. Anyone below 100 posts has no real need to post links, anyways.

    Support.
