I know you have had an amazing reply to this with people telling you that you can recover your money, but I'm just throwing this out there in the hope it could help you further. There is in fact a guide on sythe that guides you on how to recover a gift sent via paypal. I don' knwo the link, but just try searching it or looking on the guides section. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, Will be calling Paypal today.
Hopefully the Dutch paypal will care as much.

UPDATE 1: I just called paypal, the guy told me it was not possible to reclaim my money. i told him to get his manager. He will call me back later.

UPDATE 2: Game over. The argument of Paypal is " You sent the amount as a gift, therefore it's not acknowledged as a trading transaction. Which means the other person is not obliged to give my anything.. it's also not possible to get a refund/get my money back. Same reason.

I guess i have to live with this.
I have been very foolish and naive, and will never make this same mistake again.
Personally i hope the guy RaimUK snorts himself to death trough my money.
Shame that i needed to learn this the hard way, but i'm already over it.

Once again guys, thank you so much for you're input. It's very much appreciated.

For people who are about to get into my situation, please learn of me.

    Best wishes,

    Bas

@ XeronatesBad - English is not my first language, but thanks for the sympathy.

@ Austintheman - I definitely did. There was no way to get my gift back.

I'm over it. Like i said, i hope he snorts himself to death trough my money :)

Everyone has different standards. My dad went to a store 25 years ago, and left an envelope with $1,000 in it. Of course, when he returned the next day after not even remembering he forgot it until then, they denied having it. He didn't stress, he moved on.

That's probably $10,000 today. Move on, don't even worry about it. $750 isn't worth stress on teh mental health. Besides, you shouldn't be rwting :)

Meh, 750$ imo is a LOT of money to not stress about, but whatever, the scammer will eventually get what's coming to him, I hope

i was scammed once for a small amount, and i just called them and they opened up a dispute, but since the idiot had scammed others, they ruled in our favor and returned everyone's cash back -- just give paypal a call.

We all learn from our mistakes, just dont let it happen again and you will be a better man for it --just remember business is business, so take care of yours.

I feel for you my friend. $750 is certainly a large amount of money and is not to be taken lightly after loosing. My best advice is to learn from this experience and never offer your trust to another annonymous individual online.

Use a OMM always, im sorry for your loss, but you will get over it, trust me ;)

To get your $750 back so you can stop crying do this

    1. Login to paypal
    2. Resolve a Claim
    3. Open a dispute
    4. Unauthroized transaction.
    5. You will win your money back within 7-14 days. :D

    OR

    1. Go to your bank
    2. Say there is a $750 charge
    3. Say you dont own a PayPal
    4. Say you want this money back
    5. Have the charges reversed.
    6. PayPal wil refund in your paypal account or back to your card
