    I learned a lesson today

    Today.. people, i got scammed..
it hurts, in fact.. i feel like i could jump in front of a train now.
The last time i felt like this is when my first girlfriend broke up with me.

i lost a hard earned $ 750,- because i had too much faith in mankind
it's my own stupid mistake i trusted this person.
i fell into his trap of words and promises. i payed dearly for it.

Guys, please don't trust anyone because he sends you screenshots.
Please have the transaction 100% in you're control.

Now all the pieces come together.. he asked me to send the money as a gift trough paypal.. and as gullable as i am, i simply accepted this. His screenshots were also partly black to prevent his name to be seen.

Im a grown man, and here i am sitting. and admittedly even crying.

Please learn from me people, please do.
If you excuse me, i'm going to drink a bottle of whiskey now..

    hey,

Thanks for dropping in. I cant report him to paypal i think.. Because i sent it as a gift, gullable as i am.

It was indeed trough here.. His name was RaimUK, i was buying a Blue P-hat off him.

I really hope people learn from my mistake.

    Regards,

    Bas

No, you can dispute it. Go on paypal customer service and see if you can give them a call.

Sorry to hear about this man, I'm sure that you can still dispute the payment even though you sent it as a gift. Good luck anyway bro :)

If you paid via credit card it's easier to recover the money, call your credit card company and complain about the 750$ charge through paypal, tell them you don't own a paypal. From then on it's credit card company versus paypal, trust me, credit card companies will back you up big time.

Unfortunately i didn't pay trough a CC, my Paypal is linked to my bank acount.

i got all evidence that we had an agreement. hopefully paypal accepts it.
Thanks for the reply, i've calmed down a bit now. going to take a hot shower or something.

@Honda - There is no next time man.. I'm not going to do this ever again. Thanks for the advice though.

    Ciao

    OP,

CALL PAYPAL. Tell them exactly what happened. Explain that you were buying virtual goods for a video game and the person asked you to send it as a gift so that it couldn't be recovered. Paypal WILL get you your money back. You might have to talk to one of their Supervisors to get it worked out, but trust me, they absolutely will help you out.

Toss me a PM if you have any questions.

Yeah, keep arguing with paypal, if for some reason they refuse to help you, ask to speak to a manager, a manager WILL help you. $750 is a lot, next time think of you trading with a hobo on the street, would you trust him with $750? Use an OMM, they are here for a reason, even if its like $30/$40, saves you $750.

Most OMM's would charge $75 though, which people would be tempted to avoid. So I can understand why people ignore OMM's sometimes.

In this case though, he'd regret not using one.

Allright, I'll call paypal tomorrow. Thank you soo much for you're help guys. You really motivated me to do this

As far as an "OMM" till 30 mins ago, i had no idea what an OMM was to tell you the truth.

but yes, i would have used one if i knew about it. I've just been too gullable, and had too much faith in this person.

I sent Paypal an e-mail aswell. I'll try and get hold of a manager. Once again guys.. THANKS.

I honestly feel sorry for you.. That's the reason why you must check out the person's vouches or ask someone about him before making a huge trade like that. Even an OMM could of been used...

If you payed with Credit Card, just call your bank/credit card company and tell them it was a scam. They can and will reverse the charge, wether paypal likes it or not.
