Auto Bumping

Exactly one of the things that is now a big problem and remains one, I get the reasoning behind the split and using them etc but it's just pointless spam. Whenever I either buy or sell gold in the section, I do find I typically have a good laugh for the most with the other trader, but of course being that I'm not a giant gold flipper or nothing it's few and far between

 

So I think now I can have some real input on this suggestion with the experiences i've had:

Auto Bumping itself is not actually the problem for myself it's users who abuse the system, Bumping threads when they don't offer that service is honestly a joke and that should be removed or rules tightened up as that's just doing it for the post count and trying drive more users to there discord, Which seriously undervalues users offering a good service in there selector.

I get auto bumping as trying to bump your threads every 4 hour is near impossible and how competitive the market is that's a massive advantage to have but again I think there should have rules tighten up about better trading pratices.

Now about killing Sythe off because of auto bump, I personally ain't been here long enough to have any input in that but yeah makes sense because i'm guessing you don't even need to login with an auto bumper.

I woulda liked to seen more input from Grant about where this suggestion is going as it's a bit back and fourth myself included but finally getting a grasp I think.

If it's just to remove auto bumping, Deny for me.

Would support in other factors.

 

I've literally said this before a few times, even reported it in fact but without "proof" as the mods asked there is nothing they will do about it.

Like you can see there are 0 vouches being actively given for said games, said products or anything and yet they don't see the issue with it.

Not quite true mate, I was bumping 20 or so threads at least once or twice a day for the best part of several years, until recent months where i've been a lot more busy/sick and such >.< And I will still do so, it's just pure laziness and as you said taking advantage of it.

Correct you don't. As long as you have staff (ticket staff/managers etc) who can cover times when you're offline, you're free to roam and bump as much as you want because it doesn't fall in the 30-60 minute reply rule which is quite sad. The staff have even been known on MANY MANY occasions to do your vouches for you because you cba to log in >.<

 

Personally yes, as someone who was even going to donate $300 to just use it, it seems dumb when I look back on it. We had 6 hour bumps and auto bumpers, and now 4 hour and auto bumpers... like when is it going to stop? Instant autobump again? >.<

I think a lot of non-autobumped services have been affected, and in that regard the "********" so to speak continue to grow and as seen, scam quit in the end or end up with a thousand TWC/DNT. It's annoying because it also makes it so no one can actually get anywhere unless you have the bumper...

That's False advertising and if you want to dig deeper market multiplication, Depends on what % of people doing this, Couldn't this make it seem like there's alot more services which drives down prices? Without being rude can I ask why? If it's effecting business why wouldn't you? Did you start your service in 2013? and was auto bumping around then? I actually really like the authenticity behind what you stand for just can't work out why? What stopped you from spending the $100 to be able to use the auto bumper?

Well I can see why your so engaged with this topic now, How much would you say sales have dropped? Well 11 years bet you have seen it all, Call me foolish but I can't see why that would be an auto bumper's fault though? You mean building rep to scam quit through Post count?

I don't really get the issue on this? as a staff member you respresent that company so I get that you can answer tickets/trade/vouch etc But i get that how it's a massive concern as you don't even need to log in.

Im not naming names. but i just had to report the same person 3 times, on 3 separate account selling threads, because thier ONLY account listed for sale on the thread had broken images in the spoiler, did not show a price or a description, or did not match any offers shown in their discord for sale. All they had was a animated image linking to their discord where they did have accounts for sale.

And yes, they were autobumping.

 

Tons of people who haven't updated posts in probably a year with broken images and the service/account isn't even available on their Discord. Auto-Bump goes Brrrrr.

 

I didn't read all of the responses, but by the sounds of it based on the rules, even if you are auto-bumping, the below rule still applies.

• Bogus Posting or Bumping: All posts and bumps in market/trading sections of the site must relate to real trades. You may not bump your sales thread if you are not legitimately ready to trade at the time of bumping, or if only doing so for the sole purpose of increasing post count. Punishments will be the same as false advertising.

So my interpretation of this is that if you are bumping saying you have accounts in stock but in reality you don't, that falls under false advertisement and should be handled by staff accordingly.

I don't think auto bumping is the problem, I think the problem is that people are auto bumping false advertisements because they aren't prepared to sell the specific good or service.

 

I'm just going to keep reporting these auto bump abusers. A lot of them haven't check their threads in forever. Images don't work. They don't even have what they advertise anymore. Oh, and the claim "ONLINE" or "24/7" support when they bump, but won't answer tickets for hours.

 

I do not support this idea because not everyone has the right to operate this feature. In fact, it is limited to members who have donated to the site.
Everyone who uses this feature are actually merchants and have something to sell on the site, so I do not support this idea. These matters have been discussed in the past and rejected.
Just because you communicated with a merchant regarding a product that was published for sale and you did not receive a response, this does not mean that this feature is the reason. You can face this matter with or without this feature.

 

Some circular logic there. Also, you managed to repeat yourself. Overall it's just a bad take and worded poorly. Either way, at least you voiced your opinion.

 

Hey 07, thanks for getting back to us on this with a different insight... Sort of anyway, but just to point out the key parts of what you said.

- Yes there are "merchants" the same as any other website also holds these, having them specifically does not count for the need to autobump. In fact it's quite the opposite, and more like "hey donate to this charity, you get this big fluffy teddy in return"

- The mention of not receiving a "response" is similar to what @Malcolm mentioned above your comment and I quote the following.

One problem we face is a lot of people loot for a specific product which is being autobumped, let's say a gold thread and you join said discord server expecting to be able to spend your well earned money on X-amount of gold, to not be greeted at all and instead ignored, while they yet again turn up in 4 hours time (which was previously 6 hours*) to just again AUTOBUMP the same thread... Do the same thing... And have people end up having to look elsewhere for their required purchase

Let's also keep in mind, we do have real lives to attend to, but should also hire enough people to supply these said hours of the day that we need potentially more attention to provide people the correct amount of time, rules are rules and rules apply to everyone not just a minority.

 

I am fully in favor of the removal of auto bump, it is bad for the site, it looks bad and the amount of times I tried to buy gold from a thread which got autobumped, only to go through all the bullshit discord steps to be awaited with 0 response is mildly infuriating.
