    Account upgrade = Recover?

When someone upgrades your account, won't they be able to recover it later on?

I mean, they do have one of your 'previous passwords' and all the payment details.

So will they be able to recover it? Even with a registered email and recoveries set?

Chances are no since they're going to be from a different IP.

    - They will be appealing from a different IP.
    - They only have 1 previous password, means nothing.
    - 2 items isn't enough, by far.

In other words, no worries :).

a previous password and payment will mean nothing if you have recovery questions already set.
IP changes as well will mean you can get the account back easier.

Hmm one of the mods on the RS forums said that they will be able to recover my account easily (even if it was just the once).

One of the mods on the RS forums are also trying to scare you out of it and give you the possibility of it. The possibility is there, but not for long. Even if you're stupid and only have 1 password and no email / recoveries / its your first membership, you will still eventually get it locked then when you unlock it they won't be able to get it back.

It's safe, unless you have a lot other info. Like the passwords before it, and memberships, etc.

The recover system works on points, the more info you enter the more points you get will determined if your accepted or not. You may say you have recovered accounts that were made back in 04 that had only one password and you weren't sure of the creation month only the year and no other details. Well obviously the account would be limited to the amounts of points that could be earned which is why if you answer the majority of questions possible to answer you will get it. Even if its only two.

Seeing as you would most likely have more details set to the account than an account upgrade would have obtained they are more than likely unable to recover the account successfully.

Just for your information, creation dates and previous passwords are the most important set of questions out of the entire appeal.
