Which type of staker? Post your opinion.

Maybe this will help since so many people are asking...

Before you flame, I am AWARE of the staking topic, however, I do not to wait a day for a reply that might not even be helpful and/or ignorant. Therefore I will make my own topic. Secondly, don't call me a noob for asking, I've staked a lot pre 2008 and I am pretty informed when it comes to staking.

With that being said I want opinions on which type of staker is best in the most areas (an all around staker). I know maxed melee is good and it is 50/50, no need to point that out. Also don't just throw out some bias comment like "70 40 70 boxer/verac pwnz0rrr". I want some logic and to be quite honest those stakers seem to be one sided, armor off specs they will most likely get beasted and any intelligent player will look them up before staking them.. anybody who stakes them armor on will either be a noob or another staker with similar stats.

My current ideas:

all 1 prayer of course

60 attack, 60 defence, 80 strength, 80 hp (DDS/scim, armor on/off depending on opponents defence)
80 defence, 80 range, 80 hp (armor on or off with or without specs)
75 attack, 60 strength, 60 defence, 75 magic, 75 hp (for SOL)

I'd go first or third and box instead of using weapons. With dungeoneering and all..

 

Well Im only going to be 80 combat and under for the most part i doubt there will be many korasis or rapiers at that level and you can always look them up. Im hesitant about 61+ defence with a melee based because it will show in highscores and anybody with an IQ above 50 will look me up before staking big. 60 is sneaky imo unless you have range then 61+ is fine because cocky melee pures will be willing to risk.

I Like the defense stakers.. Such as 70, 40, 70.. but I've been wondering about a 20/99/75 type of build.. only thing is that i'm too lazy to even bot an account like this atm.

 

Well I am also wondering, what about the old low level rangers and ddser pures? Such as 60 attack 75 str 1 def 1 pray or 85 range 1 def 1 pray.. I used to use those back in 07 and they worked fine in no armor stakes? What about nowadays?

 

I could sell you a 70/99/45 which is a pretty beast staker. If you are interested i could give you pics and we could discuss a reasonable price.

 

boxing that might work or no arm that would probably work.. You'd have to watch out for verac staker type of accounts though if you had armor on.

 

Not really looking to buy accs too risky, i already have a maxed main and initiate pure just gathering ideas on different strengths and weaknesses in different staker builds

 

I never do armor on with a 1 def, I want to know if defence is that good these days with the new absorption update, like would veracs stakers do any good against me with no armor and would i be hitting constant 0s still? Im leaning towards a 1 def range staker with high hp

 

Well, after about a day of staking the best build that I fought against was a....

40 att
99 str
1 def/pray
w/e hp account...

He was 1 cb lvl below my 1 def/pray 70 att 76 str 70 hp acc and he killed me with about more than half his health left in a spec off fight... Use a CVLS.

 

thanks man i think i will create a pure with that 2nd stats

 

obviously in a spec off fight, the pure would win.

 

I'd say levels 40 and below, a good summoning tank can destroy pretty much any build and overall my favorite staker

Id go for the one with SOL, you'd win pretty much every fight.

 

Yeah the sol would rape pures spec on and armor on or off. The ranger would rape pures and do good against defence too

 

Barrage and dark bow imo.
