I think they can, however you have to use a pin so unless they have access to your phone you should be safe.

 

they can have a pin sent to your phone.
but they can't get it off your phone by magic.. they'd have to physically have your phone.

I'm not sure if you can send a pin back.. i don't think you can.
though they might not even be able to get an SMS pin with it because some of those require multi-step procedures.

 

so basicaly unless they have access to my phone they wont be able to get membership and hopefully i shouldnt get charged money ?

 

Can they use your number alone to get pins? No. They need your phone in their hands to actually text/call and request the pin, otherwise they can't. If you could, couldn't I just go to my local Google, grab a couple of cellphone numbers, and use them for pins?

 

yes but i mean i have had texts sent to my phone from the jagex sms membership thing so im just abit confused as i always pay by card.

 

i mean if they are sending texts to my phone i dont care i have the time to delete them but if i am being charged then i need to stop it.

i have only had 2 in the last 2 days but still at the bottom of the text it says £6

 

If I recall correctly, obtaining a pin via SMS on your phone requires that you accept their fee before they actually charge you, which is from a message they send you once you text their line. If you find that you have additional fees tacked onto your phone bill from Jagex, I believe that you have the ability to dispute the charges with your phone company and have them refund you (or eliminate the to-be fee).
