I'm sure this has been an issue here for a long time but I have noticed it a lot more recently then when I first came to the site. A number of the mods (Mostly just sectionals) have totally changed their attitude towards others becomes of a promotion. I wouldn't mention names specifically but it's pretty obvious if you talk to any of them on msn, irc or even just look through their posts before and after becoming a mod. A lot of the people that are promoted are real nice people and I would never have a problem but after a week or so from their promotion they totally just change. I know your suppose to be more professional if your a moderator here but this is more how they treat others. I have talked with several others and they agreed that several individuals have become jerks to them and aren't as helpful as they used to be. A lot of these people used to always be up for a talk on msn or help you if you had an issue. Now they wouldn't respond or if they do they blow you off. (This isn't just my opinion. I have talked to 5+ others who agreed.)

It seems like becoming a mod is a curse here. Some pass it and still act like great people but others seem to think becoming a moderator on a runescape cheating forum site should totally change your attitude towards every one. (In a jerk way.)

Is it possible for the upper staff to view the lower staffs attitude and see about their position? I don't think some staff should deserve their position when they change their attitude when some one higher then them is around. (It happens countless times in the irc if you want proof.) Chances are if an admin or global made an undercover msn and added some sectionals most of them would just blow them off and not be any help at all even though it's there job.

I kind of doubt this thread will do much but I don't like seeing some staff being complete "dicks" to others because of their position and then acting nice when other staff come to look nice and helpful.

I'm not sure what the point in this thread was in it's entirety. By not spelling out names you just make it a bigger mess, it turns into a sniggering contest. If you have some feedback to leave to a moderator - do so in the right place.
Alternatively, you can hit up their superior who will rely the message to them if you feel you can't do it.

I understand that people get complacent, especially after being handed a considerable job; sometimes they need a wake up call (everyone does) now and again. It's not very hard for someone to change themselves once they've been told what they could change and improve themselves. Without correct feedback, or any feedback at all - it becomes difficult for individuals to realise their mistakes. I believe some people don't take into consideration that we're humans to, just like you, we make mistakes and mistakes are what brings our ability into the light.

No-one can do a perfect job, ever.

Yes I've encountered mods ignoring my messages/pm's but thats because they get so many of them. Quite honestly I think the mods on this site are quite nice. Sure I'd like to see certain mods talk more freely with regular members but the mods have the right to talk with the people they want to.

I've had or currently have problems with a few sectionals, but I don't care to report it. I feel that in time, it'll be their own downfall. Some of those have even had their problems before, but were lucky enough to get out of it anyways, just because they had a -few friends- in -high places-.

I agree with your post Bubba Fuzz, and respect you for making it. Some people have a rude attitude before being promoted, but still get the position. Others at times are asked to change their attitude before getting on Staff, so it's an important issue in my opinion.

Moderators should be able to accept feedback from members. Having to be told my higher-ups will just further the idea, in both the users and staff's minds, that the staff are inherently better than the users.

    http://ww2.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=974046

I rarely even bother attempting to voice my opinions about particular staff members regarding this subject. Instead I've attempted to give suggestions for how this problem could be fixed through various means. It is a base of many of the suggestions that I make.

I'll remain respectful throughout this..but the staff knows my underlying opinions so..here goes...

You always ask me "Weasel, why don't you like me?" "Why do I not deserve to be staff?"

I'll keep it short & sweet; I HOPE THIS THREAD SPEAKS TO YOU. Back when SytheIRC was starting up I'd see you in the there all the time and we'd joke around. When you were promoted I'd try talking to you, and you were different. You can say "I was busy." "I was adjusting." ..but at the end of the day is it an unpaid job on a free-to-use blackmarket website, if you can't handle it and stay true to yourself, pass it on to someone who can. I'm not an asshole to you because I think you're a bad person or whatever, I'm an asshole to you because you used to be a great guy. I miss the old HamJank..

As for the rest of moderators changing..I'd first like to say that it seems 90% of the community is all over Gohan. He helps you one time and he's the #1 sectional. He's a fantastic guy, but give the others a chance..using absolute terms such as he is the ONLY one that helps is untrue. Those of you talking down on HHN? I posted that he was slacking a bit in the appropriate forum, within 24 hours he apologized, explained, and promised to work on it; so I believe that is reason to lay off of him.

Karl was my first friend on Sythe. When he was promoted..the first week was no different. Then it just seemed like everything exploded and he was blocked on my MSN...long story short, now we're good friends again, truthfully, nothing changed since his promotion. I just believe the power difference or the pseudo-changes you think are created due to a promotion cloud your mind, your friendship, and that is your downfall..not some rank.
