Original Vs a Copy

I've been taking a photoshop class recently in school, and was very interested in it. I'm looking to buy the CS3/CS4 edition. I looked on craigslist and one guy was selling CS4. I contacted him and he said he has an original and a copy version. He said he'd sell the original for $450 and the copy for $60. My question is whats the difference between the two? Is it worth the price?

Copy version sounds like pirated - you can get those for free like most people who can't/don't want to dish out that much for a program they'll likely never see a return of their investment from.

 

He claimed the original you can register with the adobe and thecopy you can't. And your saying you can get this "copy" for free anyway right?

Right, you can't register the copy because it's an illegal duplicate. Once it's installed, it's actually best for you to block the program from being able to use the internet with your firewall (which doesn't hinder the performance or functionality AT ALL )

If you don't want to risk getting a virus from downloading a pirated version from the internet, 60 dollars isn't a bad deal for the copy...... just make sure you're getting exactly what you want from the copied CD. He might actually just send you a blank disk if he's trying to scam you.

 

Like I said, the copy is a pirated version. You're better off going with that if not planning to run a business or anything. The main question is do you want to spend nearly 500$ on a program you might never see a return from, or do you want to get it free and just have a play around on it.

 

My suggestion would be to not purchase the full version, I am not condoning piracy...but that's just my advice.

 

Alright thanks for the responses guys. If i purchase this "copy" from him, is their any risk the CD could have a virus or keylogger or anything like that? Im planning on using photoshop to mess around on and do some little projects, not planning on starting a business or anything:laugh:

 

There's more of a risk that the CD is just blank rather than it being a virus.. but I'd still be careful.

 

Why not just torrent/warez it and save yourself hundreds of dollars?

Go on youtube and look for it there are plenty of videos on how to crack it , that's how I got my CS4 for free.

 

all photoshop cs's are the same tbh. Just torrent it for free, i really wouldn't want to waste that much -,-
