Some day you're going to look back and realize how ignorant you were for even trying to justify drugs.

Drugs are senseless. The only thing they do for you is provide pleasure, and other than that have no real benefits. In fact, most have harmful effects on your body and are completely not worth it. Drugs are like most addictions, I could even compare them to sex. After that phenomenal fifteen minutes of pleasure, (in your case, maybe 30 seconds?,) it's back to the real world where your real problems still exist.

Keep on believing drugs are cool, kid.

I can't even believe how clueless you are. You haven't done any drugs in your life and you are actually pretending to know what you're talking about. I don't even look back and regret what I've done and was addicted to opiates and benzos for four years.

Drugs are like most addictions? You just went finished saying how bad drugs are and then you compare them to sex. Since you haven't even done them before, where are you getting your information from? The majority of drugs last a lot longer than fifteen minutes too...

I'm not going to give you a lecture on drugs because I'm sure you don't give a shit. Though considering you know nothing about them other than what you learned in health class, just shut the fuck up.

You were addicted to opiates and benzos for four years and you don't regret it? I'm just going to assume you still do drugs. Yea, drugs are like any other addiction, they leave you with nothing after you spend countless dollars and time on them. Great, woohoo. Major accomplishment you've done there, especially since that money couldn't have possibly gone to anything good. Oh, and lets not mention the drugs that have harmful physical side effects. Not only do they leave you with nothing, they leave you with less than you had before.

You can try all you want, drugs offer no real benefit except for some pleasure, so in the end they really aren't worth it. Don't even try to argue that with me, there's really no point.

I've seen countless people fall into drugs and guess which direction their lives are heading? I don't need to use drugs to understand that they're completely worthless, and I definitely don't need someone who got addicted to drugs for four years and didn't regret it giving me advice.

Indeed I do, though not often at all.

I enjoy weed, but not enough to smoke constantly like I used to do. Now that I work out and box it really gets in the way of my schedule, plus I always feel lethargic the day after even if I end up sleeping 12+ hours. To be perfectly honest, I started smoking when I was around 13 because I thought it was cool. I stopped a short while after, just because I didn't have the money to buy any more and I was scared to death of being caught. Anyway, when I was 16-17 I started smoking again after realising how enjoyable it was to have a few puffs and watch a movie or play video games alone in my room. These days I use it for the same thing, although very infrequently because it makes me extremely lethargic the day after and thus interferes with my workouts/boxing training.

Other drugs are a whole other matter; I've only taken others once or twice each simply for experimentation and really didn't find them worth the health risks. They are, in order of appearance :p , Ritalin, various inhalants and generic rohypnol

I don't take drugs often, but I do have one J stored in the battery slot of an old polaroid camera for when the wilderness comes back :p

You're actually looking down on me because I don't regret doing drugs? You're obviously a very arrogant and judgmental person. I smoke weed and do other things occasionally and so what? I can still function and get through my life just fine. I don't regret anything because I enjoyed doing them at the time. It's also changed the way I look at things and brought me closer to people in my life that I care about. Going through it made me a much stronger person too. Trust me, if you can overcome a drug addiction, you can get through just about anything. Why should I regret it?

I never said drugs were good, but they definitely aren't nearly as bad as you think. I don't blame the drugs for anything and I only blame myself for letting things get to that point. It really takes a good amount of effort, time, and money to get addicted to a substance so there is no excuse. You seem to have this idea about drugs that they'll just completely fuck your life if you try them. There are plenty of people who have tried all sorts of drugs, but that doesn't mean it's ruined their lives or even had any negative affect at all. Of course there are also people out there who can't handle it and allow it to get out of hand. I've had friends overdose and watched several others ruin their lives. Don't think I don't understand the possible severity of drugs.

I'm curious. I'd like to try everything at least once in my life to see how it is. Although there's probably a lot of drugs I wouldn't take because i'm scared to get addicted..

Do you use drugs? If so why?

I smoke weed when im stressed about work/college and other aspects of my life.
Used to have a problem with a number of stimulants (Mdpv, mephedrone and cocaine) which lasted for about a year, started as a social thing and became a really big problem. Lost my job, girlfriend, all sorts. In the end i became extremely paranoid and began hearing things.(No idea what the medical name for it is but its because of to much dopamine in the brain.) This carried on for a number of weeks whilst i was still consuming drugs, i had completely lost the plot. 3 weeks later i had a heart attack and now i have a pacemaker.
I know that im in the minority who's life does get effected to that extent through drugs, although on the grounds i was only 16 and very healthy (Had only had breif drug interaction before that age) when i started and had a heart attack at the age of 17 all because of drug abuse i would strongly recommend avoiding harder drugs even at social gatherings/party's because if you do your always putting yourself in a situation where it could become a problem.
Saying that, the only drug i do now is smoke cannabis and i do that about twice a month (I don't drink). I now go to college and my life is stable.
As for the reason for doing it. It's different for every drug, the first drug i tried was cannabis at the age of 13. The only reason i tried it than was peer pressure and even though i hadn't done it until that point it was still a huge part of my life. My brother smoked it regulary all my friends did it (Iv'e always found myself more settled in older peer groups)
I first tried cocaine/mdma at the age of 15 at this point it was still just a laugh with mates when we had abit of extra money and would only happen once or so a month.
When stimulants started to become a problem it happened around the time my little brother died, so i guess i did it to avoid facing up to things.
My reasons for smoking cannabis is it lets me unwind after a stressful day and it's the least harmful substance to abuse.

I have smoked weed in college just to try it and see what exactly it was like. I don't smoke anymore given the fact it would be hypocritical with my job. And to be honest I really never got a high from it.

I don't do drugs, booze and cess.. The former has given me good perspective to life and values. The downfall is that I become anxious, like I can't perceive all the things I come across. But yeah, It gives me time to get my head straight, sounds fucked up but yeah. I suffer from SA ( social anxiety)

This kid makes me laugh. Just because the pleasure is temporary means it is a bad thing to do? I guess pleasuring and relieving yourself to make yourself feel better is a BAD THING! Dont do it! Sure all things have side effects, most however are only seen by addicts.

Seems like you got alot of issues mate, the real world isnt so bad unless you let it. If your happy in your brainwashed and ignorant mind then so be it... But I like my life and certainly enjoyin doin some drugs, hanging out with friends and having a good time and continuing life where "my real problems exist" a few hours later.

There are good ways to pleasure yourself, and their are stupid/bad ways. Drugs are not a positive solution by any means, they benefit you in no way whatsoever, just like any other negative addiction. Why not spend that time hanging out at a coffee shop or eating half price appetizers at Applebees having a normal conversation with a group of people? Those moments, in my mind, can never be topped as a great stress reliever. Those moments with your friends where you're having the best of times will be moments you'll never regret or forget. Can you seriously tell me that sitting in a dim lit room taking a massive hit from a bong is a moment you will cherish?

I have huge amounts of respect for you after you posted this. Initially when you posted that you had no regrets from your addiction to drugs, I misunderstood your meaning behind it. The way I interpreted your statement was that you had no regrets about getting addicted to the drugs themselves. The positives that came from that addiction, however, are a very good thing. Just so I'm getting this right, completely disregarding the positives of a bad addiction, would you find becoming addicted to a drug being a regrettable decision? That is the point I was getting at.

NinjaEdit : I'm really sorry if I came across as judgmental, I didn't mean to sound that way and was just getting a bit worked up. I couldn't possibly judge you or anyone, because that's not my right and I could never possibly know enough about you to do so, even if I knew you my whole life.

Just because I casually use drugs doesn't mean I dont know how to go out sober and appreciate a night with friends. You referred to addiction way to much in those posts man... theres a huge line between using drugs and being addicted and having it ruin your life. There are some benefits to drugs. Lookup some stories about MDMA and the psychological benefit. Changed my life forever for the good. There are many other drugs like it... Your coming off as one of those people that think all drugs = addiction and a ruined life. Not true. Read up more.

I smoke an unusual amount of weed, about 3 grams a day. I guess i haven't really considered why i do it. but i guess it's as simple as because i want to. When i go and buy an ounce of dank and smoke it all in less than a week or two i don't necessarily regret it, because it's what i wanted and intended to do with it. If i could pay money to make myself feel like i do when i'm ripped, without actually smoking, i would.

It's the feeling you get from it that keeps you coming back. Many people mistake it as addiction when it just isn't. It's more like smoking weed is one of those very pleasurable things in life that is worth endlessly repeating. I do it because i want to. simple as that.

I never said in my last statement anything about addiction. Drugs can be addictive and they can lead to potentially worse things. In essence, the same reason I don't play World of Warcraft is the same reason I don't do drugs. WoW has an unbelievably addictive quality to it and unless you RWT, offers no real benefit. Although, if one has enough self control, WoW can be played without that happening. I see what you mean, because in the same way one can do drugs without them becoming a problem. But, does that still make it worthwhile?

It depends if you'd consider recreation worthwhile. In my perspective, drugs like weed are comparable to things like television, skateboarding, etc, it's basically a hobby. It doesn't need a long term benefit to be worthwhile.

The summer of 2010 I smoke weed for the first time. Expectations were pretty high -expectations of literally feeling like you're flying- maybe the first time it felt like that. But it's still all right. Weed made me really relaxed and just made everything so much fun and enjoyable. I smoked alone about 10 times, I hated it. I liked the experiences of smoking with friends way better. It's a social drug at least I think so... and you have to be with your closest friends to really enjoy it.

I am 15 years young. At the time I knew that if somehow my parents caught me, the trust between us would be very hard to regain. And yeah, 2 months after my parents caught me I felt very miserable, but now it's all right. I didn't quit completely, but I sure don't smoke as much. I haven't used the substance in 3 weeks maybe. It just doesn't feel the same and since many people look down on those who do drugs, it kind of discourages me from doing it, and I feel as if people are really uneducated and should mind their own business if they don't know a thing about the subject.

Kids in my honors classes think of me as the stoner dude who is a complete dumbass, I really hate that image, and wish people were more intelligent to see through that generalization made about me.

Just personally the bottom line for me is if you can control yourself, certain drugs used socially are a great addition to a good time.

You have a wrong image of people who do drugs. Take weed for example. I smoke at any time of the day. When I wake up, when I go out with friends, whenever. I just take a hit or 2 out of a bowl and I go on with my day. I go out to eat with friends too and we aren't sober. It doesn't make the moment any less cherishable. Drugs even make you open up to people and say things you normally wouldn't. They just make you feel better overall. I don't see that as a bad thing as all as long as one has self control. Yeah it takes up some money, but it's not that expensive and I'm still able to afford other things fine. Of course it was a lot worse when I was an addict, but most of it came from dealing really. Though even when I was doing opiates and benzos, I wasn't getting so smacked or barred that I couldn't function. I still went to parties, movies, whatever and did everything I normally would. Some of my most memorable experiences involved drugs and I've done just about everything.

I appreciate that. I can understand how my first post could have been misleading. I honestly really don't regret most of it though. Yeah I could have saved a lot money, but it's not like my life is permanently damaged or anything. It did cause me to get in trouble with the law a few times, but it was nothing that I couldn't handle and I got through it. There are definitely things I regret, but it's nothing to worry about now.
