    Introduction:

Hello guys. This guide will tell you how to make a simple signature in photoshop. I hope you enjoy it.

    What is Photoshop:

Photoshop is a graphics editing program made by Adobe. You can use photoshop for a lot of things. For example: Website layout, signature, avatar, etc.

    Where can you download photoshop:

You can download the free 30 day trial at the link listed below. If you want the full program, you will have to buy it.
    Code:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop
    The Guide:

First thing to do is to open up photoshop. Then click on "file", then click on "new". After that, a screen will pop up. This is what you need to do. On width put 400 and on height put 130. You could play around with the width and height to whatever you feel looks good. Also, make sure the background contents is on white and color mode is RGB.

After you press "OK", you should see a page with an empty canvas.

This is just the middle of the page, there are more contents around it.

Now, before we can get started on our simple signature. Click here to access the GFX terms thread. Read the definitions of a stock and render. In this signature we will be using a render.

To find good renders, you could use the following sites: Google images(I don't recommend this one), Planet Renders, or DeviantART.

You can use any render you feel like, if you would like to use the render I will be using for this tutorial, there will be a picture of it below and a link of it.

    Code:
    http://planetrenders.net/renders/albums/userpics/49634/Tsukasa%20render%20666.png
Now the first thing to do is to open your render, and drag it to your canvas.

    It should look like this:

Now, you're probably like "Hey! I don't want that blue thing in my signature!!!!". Calm down! That's up next.

Now click on the eraser tool on the toolbar, at the left side. Uncheck the box "Erase to History", increase the brush size if you want. Then just erase the blue object away.

Now go to the move tool and make sure "Layer one" is highlighted and press "Control J" three times. This will duplicate layer one.

    It should look like this:

Now, after you are done duplicating your render three times. Click the eye next to layer one, layer one copy two, and layer one copy three. This will hide those layers.

After that, click on layer one copy, press "Control T", enlarge the picture WHILE HOLDING SHIFT. Enlarge it to something like this:

Click on the layer one copy two and then it's eye, do the same thing listed above, then repeat it with layer one copy three. Make sure it covers the whole canvas. It should look something like this:

Right click on layer one copy three, press merge down, do that once again. It should look like this:

After that, on the top, click on filter -> Blur -> Motion Blur.
Make the angle 45, you can play around with the distance to your liking. You should get something like this:

When you are done with that, click the eye next to layer one to unhide it. Then drag it above layer one copy. After that, you can change the size by pressing "Control T" and HOLDING SHIFT. It should look somewhat like this:

You're almost done hang in there. Just a few more steps.
You could add brushes, but that is totally up to you. I am not going to include it in this tutorial, but if you want, good source of brushes is DeviantART.

Now next thing to do is a border. Use the rectangular marquee tool to make an outline of your border like this:

After that, use the fill bucket tool, to fill that area in with the desired color. After your done with that, press "Control C", then press "Control V" and paste it at the bottom of the signature. It should look something like this:

Then, just add text and you will be done. Dafont is a good source of many different types of text.
When you go on the website and find a font you like. Download it, after your done, right click on it and click "Install". After that, the font will be installed in photoshop. You can find it by using the name of the don't in that little bar where you choose what font's to use.

    End of the text tutorial:
    Congratulations, you finished your signature!

    FAQ:

Is there away to save my pictures in higher quality?
    - Yes. Save it as a .png, it's higher quality.

I finished this guide, I still want to learn more? Where should I go?
    - There are tons of GFX tutorials on the internet, feel free to google it.

That's it for now, stay tuned for more guides. Thank you for reading this guide!
    Constructive criticism please. Thanks.

Overall a pretty good guide. I suggest you use the same color for all titles, though. Also, a lot of people get stuck with importing fonts from sites like Dafont. Perhaps you could give a brief explanation on how to import downloaded fonts into Photoshop? Other than that, if you're going to use a table of content, I suggest you divide your 'Guide' part in a few more titles. (E.g. New Project, Cropping and Frames).

Once again, a good guide! I'm looking forward to read more guides made by you. Keep up the good work, Wulf!

Thanks Nyx, will edit my guide now!
EDIT: I edited everything except for adding more titles to divide the guide, I think it might confuse some users. So, I'll just leave it as it is. Thanks for the tips though, I appreciate it.

I made a guide just like this, I was going to show people how to make animated signatures as well, but I never got round to doing it.

I often get people asking me how to animate signatures on msn, if you can do it i suggest adding that into your guide to, it will help a lot of people.

Nothing to do with criticism - I make my background transparent, that way if they ever want to they can make it a cool shape instead of just rectangular.

How To Make a Simple Signature On Photoshop.

I really like the guide wulfspade1! Although I have seen a fair share of photoshop guides out there, I feel that this is definitely one of the better ones out there. It's a basic guide on photoshop signatures so it should be useful to some members that have just started working on photoshop, and I feel that there aren't too many guides out there that are really pointed towards people that have just started out on photoshop so that's a plus.

As for the actual guide content/grammar I think that it was alright except for maybe a few mistakes here and there. One thing I did notice was that in some places you put some pretty short and choppy sentences, and maybe you could just go back through and try and making some more complex sentences for some easier reading. Also as for your formatting, I think that it all looks pretty good except the completely bold text seems like sort of an overkill. Other than that the text looks really nice, and the colors are all good on the eyes.

Finally as for your videos/pictures I think they were all made very nicely. It shows that you put great effort into making the guide, and I like that. The video guide is definitely a good perk, and should be helpful to some of the people that may have not gotten exactly what you meant through text.

Overall I think that this is a great guide, and keep up the good work!

Thanks a bunch FishFishy! I will reread my guide, and fix up a few sentences. I am sorry, I don't agree with you about the bold. I think it makes it a little better to read. Sorry, that's just my view. No had feelings. :(
