fagex new botting system

It's funny how naive most people are about how bots are owning Jagex. The truth: they aren't. Jagex is allowing botting, it's not the other way around. If Jagex really wished to stop botting and RWTing, they could cut it back drastically, easily, if they actually put the effort into it. Bots, even like Nexus, are extremely detectable if you know what you're looking for. I'm not saying the bot itself is, but merely all the scripts that run on it.

 

The bots they can detect with that system are cheap ones that run below the game code. Bots that run on Nexus are undetectable code wise by Jagex. But like matthuw (above^) stated, it is still very obvious to players who is botting. Also like he said if Jagex wanted to stop people they could, but they are making too much money from botters and RWTers.

Guess what, I'm happy they're getting banned also. They're detrimental to the price of gold in $$ because of how easy they farm money. Bots gone = rise in price. The actual purpose of this site is to buy and sell virtual goods, so I think my reason > yours.

 

Spot on. Money from bots spends just as well as money from real legit players. In the end, Jagex is a business, money is their only goal. Having the occasional mass ban and random bannings in between is merely for show. It helps keep the legit player population happy, while at the same time, they aren't losing any profit from bots and RWTers.

Like I posted in a previous thread. I bought the AutoSorceressGarden Pro bot from rsbots.net. Within the first ten minutes, I noticed about 3-4 things that could easily be used to flag anyone using the bot, without accidentally flagging any legit players. If Jagex really put in the effort and time, and just did a little homework, they could easily kill off botting.

If I was Jagex, I would go through the most popular bots, and research all the flaggable options of each script/bot. Then I would wait several months, simply only flagging the accounts, and at the end of the few months, do a massive ban. It's the most effective way to get all the mains, pures, skillers, etc., banned in one go who are cheating. If they just start banning people right away, people will know whats up and either stop botting, or update all the scripts (I haven't a clue why some haven't been updated already).

To be honest, I would love to work for Jagex, because I'd have one hell of a field day banning thousands of accounts.

Not really. I'm sure they've collected quite a nice sized nest egg if you'd want to call it that to fall back on. That statement is a moot point, however, since even if they banned 20% of their members they'd still easily be in the black. I guarantee they'd get some players back, or new loyal players if they really knew Jagex's stance on the issue.

Your post itself doesn't actually even make sense. They'd die from wealth? You either are being sarcastic saying they'd make more money, or trying to say they'd lose so much money they died due to loss of profits.

Also, you have to realize that for Jagex to spend more time banning people it means they would have to hire more people to watch all the flagged accounts. So it would be dumb for a company who main goal is to make money hire more employees (spend money) to ban people who pay their membership (lose more money). They wont.

 

That's the same thing as saying:

"It would be dumb for banks (who's sole goal of making money) to hire security guards because then they'd have to pay security guards and thus they'd loose money".

No its not... A security guard protects the bank from robbers and making people more comfortable with putting their money their. So the bank doesnt lose any business. Jagex on the other hand would lose a lot of memberships when they all got banned so they would lose oodles of more money. GF

 

And banning botters makes people who play legit feel better about their honestly earned skill capes and achievements, making them more likely to continue playing and spend more money on runescape.

They don't have to stop it, they just have to decrease the amount of botters by increasing the risk. Better detection mechanisms...etc. They'll come up with something.

 

I think reflection bots are safe, and considering most people use reflection bots, this type of detecting will not go through.

Next, i see no proof/source. And on top of that, Jagex will be resetting, not banning.

 

Sorry for having a view different then yours, excellent post too really added to the thread. Runescape would just be funner if no one botted, that's all.

You're so smart. those few legit players will feel real good when jagex doesnt have enough money to fund all the stupid games they have and go out of business for banning all the paying players they have.

The Powerbot developers have known about this for forever. The client is engineered to send back an unaltered copy of the client for each class check, and it would pass as normal. The client remains undetectable. The scripts however, are what get you banned.

 

Until they implement it, you can't rely on any of these sources..

 

You have absolutely no knowledge how much monthly revenue they get from membership, how much of that is from bots, and how much they are currently allocating to fight bots.

Yet while being completely oblivious you still make claims as to what jagex needs to do to stay in business. Sounds to me like you're just pulling theories out of your ass to support an argument you failed many posts ago.

Keep trying tho. Someday you'll get it.
