Do you fear death? Do you fear the thought of dying? Or does the thought make you seeming /care? Just want to see peoples opinions.
If a gun was to your head would you cry or say pull the trigger.

    Death

Im afraid of what's after more than actually dying. I'm atheist so it's not actually an afterlife that's the issue. It's the thought of losing that consciousness that let's you know 'your' there and your alive. Weird thought to ponder.

and the whole thing with the gun, I choose hidden option number 3 and pull some badass ninja moves to reverse the gun on the person pointing at me and this person will now be presented with this situation. (Lower eyes to next poster)

Everyone fears death to some extent, but it's something that most try to not think about.

Also I don't think anyone knows what they would do until they are put in a situation like that. The last thing I'd be doing is telling them to pull the trigger though.

I would like to think I'd take it like a man, but I think people surprise even themselves in situations like that.

I've done some pretty reckless stuff, definitely put myself in danger when I could have easily avoided it, so you could say I don't fear dying, just what would happen to my family and friends.

I don't fear death; I fear the memories and knowledge I am going to loose from death.
If I could keep my memories when I died, I'd be fearless.
But in essence, yeah I fear death. I probably fear the situations just as much as loosing my memories.
Death wouldn't be scary if we just fell asleep.

I like this image :p . But seriously every creature on this planet lives for the same reasons, only we have the knowledge to question it. Why bother questioning the inevitable when we can do nothing about it. Imo this is a philosophy thread.

Honestly, my greatest fear is to be forever conscious from this point. Although I guess I would let my mind wander and think, and it would probably never get too much (I'm a very solitary person and love having time to think). And also I'd rather not live for too long in all honesty, I don't like the way the world is going and disagree with the majority of people about my ideals, and honestly, what's the logic behind life?

In my opinion, death is just going to bed at the end of a long day. After living 80-90 years and experiencing the world for what it is, death is not something to fear.

The problem is one cannot go to bed in peace if one cannot accomplish what one wants. For example, many people do not want to die virgin, or people may not want to die if they do not have enough wealth and power. Holding a grief can make death a very different experience. If you do not hold anything important, death is just a breeze. FYI, this is what Buddhism is about, releasing all desires.
