Diablo III - Bigger than WoW?

It won't outdo WoW as WoW gets way more updates and already has a larger multiplayer base. I loved D2 had around 3-4 99's. I also play WoW though and it is just way more updated than diable ever has been.

 

Personally I think initially it will be bigger then wow just because its a all-time classic and has great history behind the game so yes when D3 comes out I can see it having more players playing it but as time goes on I'm sure you will see a slight change in that just because people will go back to wow or quit playing.

Then again I could be totally wrong because if they have a expandable map like WoW and update regularly I don't see it having a problem being bigger then WoW.

All depends what people are interested in. (Obviously).

I myself cannot wait for this game. Feel like it has been talked about for years now and to actually see game play and what not was kind of unbelievable at first!.

 

lol i didnt even know they were making a new diablo.... or that people still played it... but i seriously doubt it will come close to w0w or runescape. they have huge number of players... plus with the new release off free trade and wildy runescape i believe it will take a large part of w0w players anyways. i actually might try out the new diablo when it comes out... havent played that in yearsss....

 

Well seeing as there will not be a new world of warcraft expansion coming out (Im presuming)

Majority of blizzards players would buy diablo 3

 

I never played wow but one thing is for sure,Diablo III is gonna be a bomb !!
When they release it i'm gonna go and buy a truck of sodas,and smokes for one whole year and im gonna rock the shit out of Diablo III's world haha

 

Nothing will ever become bigger than WoW, but in my opinion Diablo 3 will be better haha. WoW's got too much of a name already

 

They need 2 make pvpin like rs and it would be amazing, blizzards pvp always sucks.

 

Yeah if the PvP is nice i think it will be really good actually =) But number97 is right.

 

It will be like Starcraft II I believe. A lof of people will leave WoW for a while to try it but eventually return.

 

Yes, if D3 is not a monthly fee game than for sure it will be. WoW has a lot of D2 veterans who are most likely going to spend their time with D3 upon release.

I think it will be a close call even tho WoW has a big fan base, D2 still has dedicated fans playing a almost 10 year old game still ?

 

WoW will probably outdo it, yet D3 has been long-anticipated for many of us. Personally, I was hooked since the original Diablo, having gone back and replayed the single player series many times, and it will be interesting to see a modern and graphically enhanced addition to the series.
Overall: Diehard fans of D3 will love the game more than the diehard fans of WoW will love their game. :3

 

I have played many RPG's and MMORPG's in my life and i got to say before i wasted my life on Runescape, i was addicted to D:II. Never got into WoW got to level 40ish an quit.

I find it kind of funny how blizzard is probably only getting held back from massive sales only due to everyone buying another blizzard game LOL.

I started playing D2 at 10, it was my main addiction to the computer for years. As much as I loved the game I regret it now that I'm 20. (has it really been 10 years?)

If I have a good computer when D3 rolls around then I'll be playing... but seeing what Blizzard did with world of warcraft kind of makes me sad. Hopefully D3 kicks ass!

 

Diablo I & II were epic games of the time, they laid the base for a majority of mmorpg's that are out now. If they manage to fuck up D3 (there were some things I didn't like) it will be very sad and I am at the moment, there is no paladin character in D3. In my opinion Diablo 3 will be epic if it is updated frequently with maps, dungeons and monsters!
