    Nice sig are those yours?

OT: I just wanted to let you know that there is a lot of competition in the gaming industry now-a-days. My friend dropped out from being a video game creator now he is doing something along the lines with photoshop.

(I'm not trying to put you down, by all means if you have the drive..Go for it! But I'm just trying to tell you some reality about it.)

I took a game development course. It sucked. I'd suggest just specializing in something you like, for example 3D modelling or animation.

you have to a be someone special to get a job with a company like jagex (or blizard, activision, etc). there are so many ppl out there who want a job making games that you have to be the best of the best to get a good job.

prepare to work long hours for low pay. you gotta love what you do.

go to school for computer science, learn java, learn c++, learn as many languages on your own as you can. if your really serious about this then you should take initiative to learn programming and graphics on your own time.

Also, if you wanted to work at Jagex, living in the UK, especially London or Cambridge would be a massive help.

It depends what job you want. I doubt you need a degree to be a games tester or customer support at Jagex.

Game development courses often have low entry requirements and aren't well recognized, I'd avoid those. Doing a regular computer science course at a good university is a good idea though.

It'll be essential to learn to program well and specialize in whatever you're interested in doing... 3D graphics programming for example, in your own time. Spend like 2 hours a day learning to do whatever it is you want to do, and then by the time you're looking for that job you'll be an expert in it :D
