This seemed like the most relevant place to write this in, as this is not a scam report as such.

I traded with a member back in December, after selling him my main account. He sent $300 paypal, I sent him all the details I had over e-mail, as that was the way he preferred. As far as I know, it was his mum that was paying for it from her credit card.

As of the 19th of January, the buyer has filed a Chargeback report on grounds that the item sold was not as described. This has gone through her Credit Card company and now is being reviewed by the paypal team. I am sitting with a -$300 negative balance. I have a few questions:

    1) Have I lost the money and the account?
    2) Will paypal start sending out letters and over time the debt collecting agency?
    3) Is there any other way I can boost my claim?

I simply stated that the item sold was Virtual Goods, and that "According to the User Agreement, PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy applies only to the postage of goods and not to services and other intangible goods." I went on to add that due to these being virtual goods, the buyer had no evidence to backup that they did not receive the virtual item.

    What do you guys think?

EDIT: Realised this isnt the correct place. If a mod could please move it, thanks.

hm thats hard see thats why i wouldn't have received a CC payment so large its always suspicious.. I'm not sure there's much you can do because there is no proof either side and once the money is charged back from credit card then its hard to get it back.

Right now i would just try recover the account, it doesn't matter if you get the account back and the money is still on hold because its his fault for charging back.

If I would have known it was from a CC I wouldnt have accepted because I know how sketchy these things can be. I havent had any luck recovering the account yet, but I am sure I will get it back in the end. I just dont want to be taken for $300.

I think your 300$ is gone, CC chargebacks are extremely hard to counter.

recover the acocunt back, Jagex will notice its YOUR ip and delete off all his info.
