If your using BCEL, it IS possible for Jagex to notice that your macroing by the change of code. If they see a change, it is an insta-ban.

If your using reflection, the only way Jagex could figure out if your botting or not would be to throw randoms at you or receive reports on you.

In answer to one of your original questions - I've scanned the file using Avast and Microsoft Security Essentials and both times the file has come up clean

Epic bot is very new.... I would wait a bit and see what happens with it.

BCEL isn't detected by Jagex because it requires a big amount of resources that they don't want to spend (server-wise). As such, using one or the other one doesn't matter. Something to prove that is, use a good, paid powerbot script (I recommend WC Legend, it completely owns any other WCing script, on any client) and bot safely with it. The ban-rate would be as high as if you were using Nexus or any other client using Reflection.

It's not that they would have to spend much recourses (It's like how Iagex says that a infinity bank space would take up there servers >_> ). But as ACESoft says, IF jagex would try to detect the change of the code (it would be client-side, not server-side) powerbot devs can bypass the detection.

You can compare it to PunkBuster: It checks if the game is clean, it doesn't find anything, yet I injected a .dll into it.

Yeah, let's say they added a method into the client that returns a boolean regarding whether or not it has been modified, a BCEL (or any bytecode modification library for that matter) bot developer can simply change that method to always return false, rendering the check pointless.

You obviously don't know much about Macro's, if you have the ultimate Auto Clicker but because it doesn't use reflection, you'll be fucked depending on how long you use it

I don't know much about macros yet I co-wrote and co-maintain a fully functional runescape bot? (acebot.net if you want to check).

You are silly, BCEL is detectable but the very thing that makes it detectable (bytecode modification) proects it. As it happens I believe that reflection is the superior technique, in fact my bot uses it, but BCEL (or bytecode modification in general) IS a viable technique.

    epicbot.com?

    Epicbot is legit.

    Yes it uses BCEL

but constantly is being protected by a VERY intelligent coder who keeps the bot safe after the scripters update the bots

I have seen a lot of proggy reports from epicbot of multiple 99 skills being achieved and so far havent seen a single ban

go on rsbots.net and look at proggy reports and see how many of them got banned

and i believe what epicbot is doing is completely legit and safe they're just now making a name for themself so give it time and see what happens
