Stay Obby Mauler, or another type of pure?

I currently have:

1 attack
80 Strength
1 defense
1 prayer
1 range
1 mage

Lol. I was planning to get 60-90 ish range to start PKing, but watching some videos, Obby maulers don't seem to be that fun and easy to PK with, since I'm not at all experienced in PKing and the timing seems awfully hard. Should I just stay Obby Mauler and get range then start PKing, or convert it into another type of pure?

 

Obby Maulers are one of the easier types of pures to pk, at least in my opinon. I've pked on obby maulers from 60-90 str. However straight up mauling and poison dagger comboing really makes people safe. I say get 50 range with your strength level. It will open you up to things like magic shortbow spec along with your basic range stuff such as knives and what not. It makes life a lot easier. Believe me.

Bro alright if your not experienced at all there are variour things you can do


First get around 70 range which will take about 2-3 days in luthans camp (caged orges) this is for ranging with knifes or mage shortbow and pulling out obby maul to ko this is good


another thing is if your not that experienced get about 50 attack but quest most of it and get 70 - 80 range ... mage short bow then gmaul spec

but the best underdog in the old wildy is going to be
60 attack
80 str
1 pray
1 everything else
70 range for hp lvls
high hp lvls
this way you can stake too and pk

 

Getting 70-80 range with 1 attack will make you ranged based which you don't want as an obby mauler. Stay in the 50's with range until you get higher strength. At 90+ Strength I'd say get 60 range.

 

I was planning to get 90 Strength, then 60 range as stated by Trinity. So this is what I see most people do, correct me if I'm wrong:

- Use Rune Knives (p++ or not?) until they're about 3/4 HP left.
- Whip out my Obby Maul and attempt to KO them
- If they don't die, switch back to Knives and do the same thing?

What should I wear?

 

What I used to wear was:

Any helm you want.
Obby necklace
Red d' hide chaps
Leather body
Iron Boots
Mith Gloves
Recoil
Knifes + Prayer Book
Cape of your choice

I would also keep a magic shortbow in the inv with 10-20 rune arrows so you could use the msb spec. And obviously keep the obby maul in your inv for switching.

You could be a traditional pure and get 60 attack and 90 str or so.

 

as an avid obby mauler pure, I would say range is really recommended. Range really helps with k0s and is useful in almost EVERY possible situation

 

I say either get 80 ranged and stay that.
Or, go for obbby tank. 65 def.

 

Yea, I was planning to get 60 Range (when I'm at 90 strength). How often would I find people in my combat range that would be an easy target? What type of targets do I go after? 1 def pure, or mains?
