Rejected from the college I wanted to attend..

Yeah, that wonderful letter came today. I got rejected from the school I wanted to go to, and I honestly thought that I'd get in. I exceeded the average statistics of the college too. I am not fucking happy, need to vent.

I'm waiting on my second choice, got accepted into both my safety schools but I don't want to attend either.

 

Do you think you have a good chance of getting into your second one?

 

Rejection from something you were highly anticipating is very very VERY discouraging to the situation(in this case, your education) and even life in general. Huge blow to your self-esteem, it is.

If I were you I would press forward and keep trying as hard as you can to keep things well, Farcast. Things perhaps in the future will grow and maybe you will get a second chance. As 1 door closes, several others open - never forget that.

 

It sucks but you have to make best of what you have. I'm sure the school you wanted to go to has cons and the schools that will accept you have pros. Just look at the pros of your accepted schools and don't dwell on the past.

You'll have fun no matter where you go. Just go with the right attitude and you'll be fine.

Is there a particular reason why you wanted to go to that college?

My brother pretty much picked his first university because it had 50 fast food spots on campus lmao.

I completely disagree with you in this case. You must apply to colleges if you want to get in, I may of very well just missed my chance. Doors are closed.

I'm not worried about having fun, I'm worried about not getting a proper education from an accredited school.

 

As one door closes, several may open. Are you going to throw a hissy-fit for not getting into the college of your choice, or are you going to persist on and try and be resilient to what life has thrown at you and try and get into another college?

 

Just go to a community college for a semester then re-apply and transfer, it happens all the time and its quite normal.

Just wanting to post saying I'm sorry you didn't get in, I've seen people so upset from the same thing .

 

How was your resume? Good Essay? Also how were your extracurriculars? Those are things you may have overlooked when applying to said school. Anyway I'm sorry to hear you didn't get in your first school, but there's only your 2nd choice.

I'm currently in 3 and got denied from 2. Still have like 10 left to hear from.

 

My top school was NYU..

 

I think you should ask them why (calmly) and say for future references but that does suck

 

damn man, hope you get in next time, Atleast they arent racist as they are in our country(sweden), accepting people from Swedish origin ONLY, they dont care if the other one has betther grades...

I know exactly how you feel, i applied early action, and i got rejected in december. I've gotten into 1 safety so far, which i do NOT want to attend. I hope everything works out for you and me.

 

Attend a community college for a semester and get some of your general studies over with and then re-apply to your favorite college. Find out what got you denied if possible or work on some extra things that might get you in next time. Colleges care about the little things when it comes down to accepting kids.

 

It's not the end of the world man Find out what they denied you for, and re-apply after a semester. You'll have a better chance to get in. Good luck!

 

This works, if you attend a college for a semester and do well and than reapply, that college will see that you've already taken courses, and if you did extremely well thats even better. If you really want to get into this college, i'd suggest doing that if not 1 semester than two.

 

the exact same thing happened to me. but i ended up at the sister campus of the original school i wanted to attend where I have met great friends and my wonderful gf. I am happy where I am now and could transfer to my original pick if I wanted to but am perfectly content where I am now.

although it sucks now, I am sure everything will turn out ok for you m8.
