Lead on how they'll track Gifters from RWT'ers?

Well, Jagex isn't going to tell us what methods they'll be using to track rwt'ers, but I think I might have a lead on what trick they will be using.

Basically, I think they check how long you and the person you've been trading with have been friends. And they check if you delete the person immediately afterwards, which makes things a lot more obvious.

Maybe gold sellers, and I (planning on selling around 40M on sythe here), should add the person, then schedule it sometime within the week to trade. And also, you shouldn't probably trade with a bunch of other people; basically buy however much gold you need in one go.

Thoughts/suggestions?

 

If the account is level 3 probably, and f2p. Also, the IP they use.

Most Gp sellers are in China/Korea. So they'll check for that

 

I don't think it warrants this much suspicion. There will be hundreds of billions of gold traded on Feb 1 alone. It's nearly impossible for them to tell if you're trading a friend whom you convinced to join because of the new free trade, or if you're selling the gold.

My advice: Just don't be stupid ingame. Talk normally like it's your friend. Call them by their name (or a fake name, like Tim) rather than their username. Talk as if you've never played RS; ask "How do I trade?" and stuff. Why would a person add his IRL friend and not give him gold until a week later?

 

As Tehbestskater said, most of them are from china/korea so it will be obvious, just dont trade like 50 mill at the time and your fine

 

IMO i dont think jagex really cares that much about RWT anymore. Since there isn't a trade limit.. it would almost seem idiot to ban someone on this basis.

Either way they can never physically prove you're doing an RWT (unless you talk about it in-game.. which would be stupid).. You can always come up with the story that your mate was giving you his stuff. Etc etc...

 

Like Kero said, Feb. 1st will be the busiest trading day in the history of runescape (probably). The entire week will be packed with people trading various amounts to their friends, jagex won't bother flagging anyone until after the first week is my prediction.

That being said, better safe than sorry. Do stakes, wildy kills, and don't make it obvious what you're doing

Its pretty easy to trade really, just make it complex.

1) Get on a proxy
2) Player A goes to W2 Grand exchange/fally park spam drop party
3) Player B follows Player A. Once you feel youve got enough people following you for the "Drop Party" you go and Proceed to #4
4) Go to Romeo and Juliets house
5) Player A says that he's going to ask questions and who gets the questions right wins the item/gp what ever it is.

I dont know about you guys but this is what Im going to be doing.

Though I don't really think they'd take that into consideration tbh.

 

This would take a lot of effort, not to mention that it's easy to spot if the same person keeps getting all the questions right. I remember one time a trust scammer rounding up 50 people and myself and asking a question. I actually answered before his partner could, and he gave his partner the santa hat anyway. Everyone there called him out for it and reported him, so you have to be careful

 

It takes effort, but its more safer than just logging in trading 1B to your main and logging out.
You dont need to give out easy answers, like I said just keep it hard for jagex to think its a RWT/Multiloggin

 

@ all the people who think gold farmers have ip's from china/Korea, gold4rs and I am sure other sites use united states based ip's.

 

Jagex is moving on from runescape, which is basically the reason why they allowed this to happen simply because they don't care. I doubt they would monitor and trades and just stick with bans.

 

yeah, that makes sense.. also randomly giving 100M to some random person in game is strange behavior.. doing it 10x in a week is an easy way to get flagged.

just be careful when trading, if your giving loads of gold in untimed intervals i reckon you'll get flagged. especially with different users etc.

 

im personally go do the quitting giving away 100m quiting giving away the 100m blabla and then bunch of ppl trade and i'll trade the guy im dealing with xD

imagine i give someone by accident the 100m haha facepalm

 

Just stake. No matter what, NEVER add the person who's selling the GP. Make it seem like a coincident and legit game play. You'll never even be noticed.

 

Just dont trade hundreds of mills every day for an extended period and you will be fine.

 

Stake with the person like Robin Hood said. Also, you wont be flagged or banned for RWT at all, unless you mention it. They dont ban unless they have definitive proof you are RWTing/Multilogging.

You wont even be banned if you trade 100M a day from the same account repeatedly. Dont worry about it.
