Why isn't there a public banlist?

Well, I've been a member here for a while now and I've always been curious as to why a forum with such a large virtual marketplace, wouldn't have a public banlist.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to reading some of the responses, and would like to hear some public opinion on this matter.

 

This is a big site. It'd take a lot of effort to update that banlist and not many people would really look at it.

 

Because it'd have like, 10k people on it.

 

Uh, it's not something that would need self updating. A simple VB add-on would take care of it, it may even be a VB feature, I can't remember.

Its over 49 pages long currently.....

 

Meaning what, there is a public banlist? Who cares how long it is, are you talking about the banlist is modcp?

 

There wont be a public ban list, ever.

 

What the hell is the point of looking through a list of banned users anyways? Unless it has reasons next to it, which I doubt will happen, it'd be pointless. Especially a 49 page long ban list.

 

There is one only accessible to Globals.

 

Man, you would think a moderator would show a little quality in their posts. Come up with some reasoning's, that's the point of this thread.

It would obviously have a reason next to it, every ban has a reason, regardless of if theirs a public banlist. Nearly every virtual marketplace forum has a banlist, it helps in so many ways.

It's already been created, nearly every marketplace forum has a public banlist. It uses the sites actual banlists, with reasons and such.
This isn't anything new.

It's not a suggestion, its a question. If it was a suggestion, I would have created it in the suggestions section.

Oh boy, I'll give you an example. It's a public add-on which can be found on the vbulletin site, their may even be an actual feature in the newer versions of VB.

******* (KH lol) had the mod for years as well. Most marketplace forums have some sort of banlist mod, infact most forum software has some sort of version of a banlist.

 

If your wondering why a member was banned post on the where did [name here] go thread and you will get answer. I don't see how a public list would benefit anyone.

 

I think its too big to have and considering the amount of ban evaders, it'll be waaay bigger. Letting the public see it wont help.

 

That's because you only see the small picture, open your mind. Start thinking.

It's not too big, it's just text. Regardless of that, it's helpful.

Sectionals dont even have a ban list so trust me the public will never get one.
