    That's a downright stupid comment, if you get hacked without doing anything stupid (clicking links, downloading files), it's in no way your fault. You can't blame someone for sitting their playing RuneScape whilst somebody else has their IP address and is portsniffing away.

    The fact is that it is rented, as Louis said. This means Jagex are the lawful owners of all of their accounts and games, and since the hacker was breaking the contract of use (the terms and conditions of playing the game), it was in all ways justified for Jagex to press charges - the kid knew what he was getting himself into.

    It's not funny sweetie, it's just silly. And sure, in that case the person was foolish, but if someone bruteforces your account, the same would occur.

    There's little more to be said for it than that it's Jagex's property, If you steal it they have every right to charge you.
    Jail may sound like a bit much if you look at it soley from the RS perspective. However, Theft is theft so you have to look at it in the big picture.

    But if you want Justice, I reccomend...

    Are you sure that the article was accurate ? Jail time for stealing someones RS account doesn't sound right unless there were many more factors at play..

    Plus your spelling kind of makes you lose your credibility :p

    Haha I don't want to imagine how jail time will be like for him...

    But about the jail sentence, I guess it all depends on the method which he used to hack the person.

    1) He didn't get Jail time, he got taken to court

    2) I think its pretty sad seeing the amount of kids that get away with it

    3) It was two kids, who practically kidnapped the kid and forced him to give his password

    4) This makes things more serious, because of (3) thus they were taken to court.
