Briefly explain the trade:

All right, I should've conducted a background check prior to trade, but I learned a valuable lesson.

Obviously, he has a history on Sythe as a scammer; however, no one was able to provide enough proof.

I was selling him my WoW account for 380USD, and within minutes after the transaction was completed, I was contacted by Paypal. I am still currently trying to win the disputes, but the chances are slim that I will win. Also, I contacted the original owner of the account that I sold him and he is in the process of recovering it.

How they scammed:

He sent the payment first and I followed up after. Clearly after he received the account, he also wanted to purchase my excess gold. Thankfully, I didn't follow through on that. After the account was handed over to him, Paypal held the funds claiming the buyer didn't authorize the payments.

Have you tried contacting him since?

 

Yes, he hasn't signed on AIM. After searching his name on Sythe, there's no doubt in my mind that he will not be returning either.

Since the payments haven't cleared either, I assume he has no intent to own up to his end of the deal.

Not yet, the original owner will be starting the recovery on Monday. I have texted the original owner and we agreed that he would start on Monday since he has a busy weekend.

 

I have re-gained control of the account.
