Disallow people to use trusted, #1, cheapest, etc., in thread titles.

I think it would benefit everyone to ban the use of words like trusted, #1, cheapest, fastest, etc., in thread titles, at least in the market. First off, half the members that use trusted, aren't trusted. Most of the members that use #1 are barely even established members. And 99% of the people who use cheapest or fastest are usually the most expensive and slowest.

Now before anyone posts, who cares, just ignore it, or don't use them. Yes, I could, but at the same time, it's extremely annoying to look through market threads only to see every other title have trusted, cheapest, fastest, etc., in it.

The words serve no purpose in thread titles other than misleading other Sythe members. This would be very easy to enforce, and it wouldn't negatively affect anyone.

Agreed, it often confuses newer members into actually thinking that.

 

Most likely Not going to happen. Its called marketing tactics.

 

So even when they're blatantly misleading people, that's just fair play? I realize people use the words to get more customers, but have you noticed that almost none of the big name established sellers have any of those words in their titles? They sell, buy, or trade off of their own merit and reputation. The only people who use the words are often scammers and newbies.

 

People use it in advertising in the real world all the time. This has been suggested multiple times and it's continually denied. We're not going to be nazis about titles when we have more pressing issues to worry about.

 

Its your choice whether you believe they are trusted, #1, etc. Just a marketing trick.

 

This. It doesnt matter. If you trade with someone based off of the stuff written in thread titles then you should not be trading anyway.
