Something I need help with.

Alright. My parents left to go to their friend's house erlier, so as I do occasionally, I snoop through my parents' room for personal reasons (I'm a huge pothead and in need of things). I was looking for specifically, a lighter. She hides them pretty damn well. I was out of luck tonight though, but I did happen to come across some things that I stole from her, that she found and retrieved from my room.. This got me worried that she knows I smoke weed. But I kept looking after I took my scale back. A couple drawers down I tooked through one and saw nothing suspicious, so I went to the next down, nothing, and repeat. But I got back to the top one and I could smell something, so I look through it and find a cigarette plastic wrapping with a FREAKING ROACH in it. I could clearly tell it was weed. I'm like, "Holy fuck! This is awesome! But then I'm like WAIT WTF?! This definately isn't mine. I know she didn't take this from me. I never roll joints this big! (It was HUGE!). Then I start thinking.. If she knows I smoke weed, and she smokes too, why didn't she confront me about it when she found all of the smoking stuff? I'm starting to think that she doesn't want me getting into any trouble with my dad. (He'll put me back in rehab if he knew I smoked. I went once for depression.). I just really want to know why she never told me. Please reply with a respectful answer and no bullshit saying weed is bad for me and crap..

 

She probably doesn't want to tell you she knows you smoke because she would be a hypocrite. If she told you to stop, she would have to stop.

I remember when I was in your situation as was a lot of friends who also smoked in the situation.

The thing is, a lot of parents don't care. They just don't wanna fucking know about it, so keep it under their nose and they'll turn their head when they see red eyes here and there. Just keep it as quiet as possible and don't get too comfortable with her being alright with it, especially if your dad is gonna send you to rehab for marijuana.

This. She doesnt want to confront you about it, because she might feel ashamed/ hypocritical.
If she ever does now, you can say, hey now, you smoke pot too mom.

 

I wouldn't be happy if my kid was smoking weed, as much as I love it I wouldn't let my kid do it. Because as a parent you have to put rules down for that kinda stuff.

 

I agree with Djweasel. Regardless if it's hypocritical, I still wouldn't allow my kid to do it as well.

On topic; you're in a pretty deep situation, and I say talk to your mom about it. Tell her you smoke and make her promise that the conversation will stay upon the two of you.

 

If i had a bad habit, i still wouldn't want my kid to do it. She probably does not feel comfortable confronting you about it since it would be hypocritical. I doubt your mom wants you knowing she smokes an illegal drug, which is why she hasn't told you she smokes.
