My Guide Sale Thread

I have nothing against R2, hell, I think he was a great mod in his time and I respect him greatly.

However, here's my 2 cents.

I think R2 should serve some form of punishment for what he did. He knew the rules when he posted that guide, the one that 2 users may not sell the same guide. Whether or not this rule should have ever been made is totally irrelevant, he chose to break that rule, and therefore should serve some form of punishment, even if it is just a 1 week ban.

 

Its absolutely absurd this 1 person rule. Serving a ban for a rule this stupid is just flat out stupid.

I bought R2's guide myself. He's selling what he says it's selling, and if you acquire enough of the item and have enough money on both accounts it can do 99999999999999M/HR. So for any lingering doubts of his method being patched, 80M/Hr is extremely reasonable.

His discrepancies with Viou are out of my field of vision though, best of luck resorting that. I don't think anyone should be banned/reprimanded for this situation though.

 

Honestly, I'd say - what's the point of having just one person sell the guide? I think you could have a few sell the guide, and whoever is trusted more would get the more purchases. It's pretty stupid to serve a ban for selling the same guide. Aslong as they both give to the buyers what they state in the post, everything should be well.

There was miscommunication between 2 verifiers, namely HHN and Greg. Viou's guide should have been verified by Greg rather then HHN blindly verifying it on Viou's proof that Greg said it was all good it go.

This was a once off sort of thing, up to that point things were good and if the checking of R2's guide was done the same way as every other guide (recently), then we wouldn't be talking here.

Correct, he knew Viou was selling a similar guide but preceded to ask a verifier to verify it anyway, thus he was ignoring the sticky in place.

Although in this case, he'll probably go away scot-free because of impending changes in the guide section.

 

Get away scot-free? I have no way to tell what guide Viou is selling for one. Just as he had no idea which guide I was selling. I am not an official Guide Verifier, I can't see those forums. So to tell me I am ignoring the sticky, not at all. I went through the correct process; I had my guide verified.

Furthermore, my guide is still for sale in the Guides Sales forum! If what I did merited a ban (ridiculous to even hint at), my thread would at least be locked. You are being extremely narrow-minded here HamJam. Rules on this site should not be seen as words to hide behind. There should still be correct reasoning behind decisions. Simply saying "sorry dood, rules are the rules" is not the way Sythe.org is intended to be run. This forum is constantly evolving, and rules should only be used to encourage fair play amongst users. If it can be proven that these rules are not creating an equal and fair area to trade, then they must be changed.

 

First come, first serve. It may seem like a primitive concept, but it's the only one that will ever work in guide sales. I don't care if half the world knows it, whoever sells it first has the rights to it. It may not seem fair, and it probably isn't, but it is the fairest way to do things.

Simply because something might be known by multiple people, doesn't give multiple people the right to sell the exact same guide if someone else has already posted it.

If you take away that rule, what's stopping me from having someone leak a guide to me, and then me posting a new thread selling it, claiming it's widely known and that I have a right to sell it as well? The answer: nothing.

If you're going to redo the rules, or remove the rule against selling the same guide, you might as well remove all of them for that section.

 

I think everything thats needed to be said has been said, so lock?

 

The problem I have with that is.. if this was any other person, would the outcome be exactly the same? I highly doubt it, but oh well.

 

@First part- I'm pretty sure all the gold sellers know which method is being used by who etc.

@Second part- Not a clue what you're talking about, rules are there for a reason. It's not hard to figure them out.

This, guide reform is being discussed by the staff. Hopefully there will be changes soon.

 

So you want to say, that a person who bought this guide, can recreate it by adding the same method and start reselling it?

Viou is an original owner of this guide if none similar guides were created before, noone can use even a part of his guide, unless someone can prove that he did not created this guide or if you can prove that an another person or persons tried to sell this or a part of this guide before Viou.

 

Totally agree ^.^, if this was another member this thread would have been locked after 10 mins and no one would even try to discuss what happened.

On topic, there is no way of knowing who the real "owner" is so I think both should be allowed to sell.
