This will be a guide covering many aspects of the popular Nexus client used by a wide range of the botting community. In this guide, I will hopefully clarify many of the issues, problems and confusion regarding the Nexus bot client. I'm not only doing this to clarify these aspects, but I'm also doing this to gain trust within the Sythe community.

    Global Settings

This is a typical topic of confusion within the Nexus botting community. In this brief but effective guide, I will hopefully clarify once and for all which settings are best for certain occasions, their advantages and disadvantages and my personal preference.

For those of you that are unsure of which global settings to use, there are really only two settings that you need to know:

    1. All the way to the left.

A lot of people recommend this because it causes the least amount of "lagg" and is the smoothest way to run the client. Is this true? Yes and no. Moving all the settings to the left will enable you to VIEW the client in its smoothest operation, but really, it doesn't actually increase the actual performance of the client. In fact, moving your settings all the way to the left uses a lot of your CPU.

    2. All the way to the right.

This is what I recommend if you are not actually viewing your bot client. It reduces CPU usage, meaning you can run other tasks on your computer a lot smoother and even run more bots (less CPU being used provides more 'space' for additional bots). However, it may seem that you're "lagging" but the client is actually running at its normal operation.

    What I do

Whenever I'm away and not actually viewing the client, I leave all my global settings to the right. This reduces CPU usage and it may lower the CPU temperature, run additional programs smoother and it's simply healthier for your computer. When I want to view it again (baby-sit, view progress, stats, etc.) I move them all the way to the left so I am able to witness the bot "smoothly".

    Proof it works

Move your iBot Sleep Time and your Client Sleep Time all the way to the right. Now move your Paint Sleep Time all the way to the left. Check your progress report. Your exp/hr or gp/hr should be the same as before (when you had all your settings to the left, as recommended). Now move all of them to the right again to reduce that CPU usage!

Also, if you have Vista, get a gadget that shows your CPU usage. Open your bot client and size it so this gadget is also in view. Now move all your settings to the left. Note your CPU usage. Now move all your settings to the right. It should be 30-60% lower!

Does this look familiar? I also posted this guide in the rsbots.net forums: http://www.rsbots.net/forums/index.php?topic=158954.0. Here you can also see people's feedback from reading my guide and how it has improved their PC's performance.

    More topics to come, including:

    - Random events.
    - World selection.
    - Login issues.
    - Specific bots.

heh i've been telling people this for a year now and nothin.
you should explain though that neXus are reflection bots, so that's why it works the way it does.

if you have iBot Pro sub you can actually watch the game-side while the reflection is on super high sleep timer.

I'm so sorry guys, I will not be posting new topics/guides on this thread as I am currently dealing with an issue. My F2P pure got scammed, and I'm trying to get it back. Sorry once again.

it's not too much about what bots you use now (excluding free bots on powerbot)
but rather where/how you use them.

you can easily get banned with paid scripts if you do something stupid like fish sharks in catherby or fight ardy druids.
