    Sticky about java driveby's

Please make a temporary sticky about java driveby's with general information.
I saw a sticky from Firez a while ago about a particular website ONLY but I think we should give out a general notice since so many are floating around right now.

Basic information the warning sticky should contain:

    - If you clicked to run the script you are infected with a virus.

    - If you declined or closed your browser before running it, you're clean.

If you are unsure, you should do a full scan with mbam (malwarebytes antimalware) simply google it and take out your LAN-cable whilst scanning if you think you might be infected.

Please make a general warning sticky about this as I see many malicious links flying around lately and people posting asking whether they have been infected by the virus or not.

If people are infected after running the script I am willing to help them remove it as I know exactly how these kind of things work and can be removed.

I support this, I see these way to frequently, and too many people fall for it. I'm pretty sure this will alert the public about this, so hopefully less people fall for this.

I don't think so, but just do a virus scan to be sure.

I scanned using Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. No viruses were found.

There's a java applet loading first, this will do nothing.

After that you will get an option to run or decline.
It all depends on whether you clicked run or not.

Looks like this has turned into a help section now...

Honestly, I don't support this. Yes, it's a threat, but people need to be aware that there is danger all over the internet. I think people should have responsibility and get a good antivirus program, be smart about what they do and don't do, and whatnot. If something like this get's stickied, are we going to have to sticky a ton of threads related to and warning users about common online threats? No, there are too many.

It's because this is the most common type of spreading viruses via forums now a days. Honestly alot of people don't know that they can get a virus just by running a java applet. Anti viruses also generally do not even detect this, so don't say 'just install antivirus'.

Don't think that just because a virus scan came up clean that you are not infected!

Chances are YOU ARE! It takes even a skiddie like 4 seconds to make their virus undetectable, because they buy crypters off programmers.

This is not the section for discussion, although I already stated that normal antivirus programs generally do not pick these up.

Don't try to make me look stupid guys. Here's an easy and simple trick I have for you. Don't go to suspicious sites and moreso, don't click on anything there. What's so hard about that? I don't see why we need a sticky for a common threat on the internet. Like I said before, do we need a sticky for every common threat out there? No, so why do we need one for this?

    Just my two cents.

Not for every threat out there, but seeing as Firez made a sticky about an individual website this sticky can be very helpfull aswell.

But no need to make a sticky about every threat, but this type is very much used on sythe now and people are falling for it and making threads / posts asking if they've been infected etc. or not.

Bump I still think we should have a temporary sticky for this.
