So, ill explain a rather long story shortly to begin with.

Muslims had control of Spain from about 700 too 1492, when Ferdinand & Isabella Spains Catholic rulers retook spain in 1492. That very same year, Ferdinand & Isabella funded Christopher Columbus's expedition to find a quicker route to India, across the Atlantic. Which would eventually lead to the discovering of America.

Now, if Ferdinand & Isabella never retook Spain, and the Muslims had funded his voyage and all else, what would America be like?

NO RACE/RELIGION BASHING IN THIS THREAD. I only ask because in general Americans look at Muslims, and Islam in a negative way.

Muslims are portrayed in a negative way, but there's christian paedophiles but you dont condemn all christians as evil.

There are millions of good muslims but extremists have managed to mess things up.

A huge majority of Muslims are in fact 'good' muslims. There's only a very small population of Muslims whom are actually extremists and take things to the way they shouldn't be.

If you're referring to whether we'd be a terrorist infested continent like Europe, or our morals etc. would be worlds apart from what it is now, then there would be little difference.

In essence, Muslim religion is very similar to Christianity/Catholicism. The only difference is God is portrayed as powerful in the Quran, while in the bible, He's all loving.

Also, Muslim =/= terrorism, so we wouldn't become some terrorist country if we were predominately Muslim. In fact, the Muslim people of Spain issued a Fatwa against Bin Laden and the Al Qaeda JUST BECAUSE OF 9/11.

    tl;dr we wouldn't change much

It's a shame that the irresponsible actions of a few lead to a whole organization branded in such a negative nature. Horrible misconception. It's hard to speculate what would be different, but the worldwould definitely not be as technologically advanced as it currently is.

I'm not condemning anyone, or any religion as evil.

From the responses it looks like people are taking this too much to heart, thinking I'm asking if America would be some giant terrorist continent. Sure you can answer the question that way if you want, but don't make the entire thread about it.

It is a shame how stereotypical America is. I live in New York and people still blame the muslims for 9/11. They miss the facts though that muslim people died in that building just like many others. They also fail to realize that there was a mosque inside the twin towers where muslim workers could pray during break. I'm not a muslim myself but I respect their religion just like all other religions. It just hurts me inside to see that people think ALL muslims are bad.\

EDIT: Sorry did a little editing my brain isn't functioning right with punctuating today^^

As a Muslim i feel happy that these forums aren't filled with racist people. I completely agree with you though Hahanerd, i would say 97% of the muslim population are in fact "good Muslims" and the other 3% extremists. As a Muslim, i really do feel we all get portrayed as extremists which is unfair on us. My dad gets stopped at the air port all the time just because he has a beard, do you really think that is fair? What happened to a free country (i live in the UK), where you can say or do, or look like whatever you want....

What OP said is true. In America, there are both Christians and Muslims who were effected by this. Terrorist are against America meaning they're against both religions. I still see stereotypes that treat Muslims badly because of this.
