The worst addiction

I snorted meth all through my junior and senior year at highschool, and freshman year of college. I don't do it anymore because my girlfriend doesn't like it but I had and am having a hard time getting off. i would constantly think about getting more just to take the edge off.. I smoked a lot of weed to help me not think about it though, but i still think about it daily and know how easy it would be to start again. even after the physical addiction is gone, theres a lingering mental addiction to the feeling that can be the worst. My buddy smoked crack for 12 years and i don't even wanna think what he went through when quitting. he has no teeth anymore and is in the hospital almost monthly.

About the OP, I think seeking approval is a natural human instinct and not an addiction.

 

I'd have to agree with you people i've always seen as good kids and stuff and even myself, i moved to another school in my city and everyone is so different now just to get into the 'in' crowd.

 

I feel you man. I've also done enough meth to know how addictive it is. As long as I have it, I won't stop. I'll go days at a time without sleeping or eating. I rarely snort it though. I just enjoy smoking it too much. I love the rush and it goes a longer ways than snorting. Other than opiates, I think about it more than any other drug. I have to smoke weed all the time too. It doesn't really cut it for me, but it sure as hell is better than nothing. Honestly, weed has saved my life and is the only that keeps me from going crazy. Meth is definitely very dangerous considering it'll get you hooked right away. Opiates are worse overall in my opinion, but at least it takes a while before you're hooked. Crack is the only thing I haven't done and don't plan to.

 

I think the biggest addictions come from psychological issues. There are a lot which already have been mentioned. But ultimately I think they cause more self-hatred while undiagnosed than any hard drugs because atleast with drugs you are self medicated.

Facebook and internet porn aint hardcore addictions.

Crystal Meth/Heroine are somewere near the top.

I agree. You can't even compare mental addictions to hard drugs. Withdrawals from drugs are enough to make them the worst. There's a reason why most people relapse in the end and many OD. Can't say that about porn or facebook lol.

Drugs are definetly the worst. I know women from rehab that have sold their babies for crack.

 

They deserve to be hung, or burnt at the stake. I know drugs can make people do crazy things (trust me, I know), but a child is such a pure and innocent thing that surely it's enough inspiration to get clean.

I know that as soon as my girlfriend is pregnant I'd man up and grab life by the balls. I recently found out I'm going to be an uncle, which played part into my inspiration to quit drugs and sort my life out - I want to be there for my niece/nephew.

 

Unless you've been on hard drugs like high class Crack/Heroine I wouldn't be judgemental as you may act the same way.

Obviously most of us make the choice never to try hard drugs, which is her fault for starting and leading to it...

BUT think of it like this, the baby would be much better of... have a higher standing of living with loving parents who are willing to pay for a child.

Rather that then a crack-addicted broke mother who cant even look after the child.

I'm going through pretty strong withdrawals myself right now from being addicted to ketamine, the withdrawals are VERY serious (source) and I have to be monitored. I had my first doctors appointment today which went well, and I'm going to get a phone call from a counsellor who will help me with the mental side.

So I do have some basis for my opinion, but I doubt my withdrawals compare to an IV heroin/methamphetamine user, I still know deep down I'd never, ever consider trading a child for money/drugs, I'd already die for my unborn niece/nephew. Anyone who would do something like that in my eyes is scum, I wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire.

 

Obviously anyone who gives up family, or even selling a child is scum.
But i was just saying the child will most likely have a better life with parents who actual want it and can care for it instead of a crack addicted mother.


Also people who have smoked weed, then gone onto harder drugs wont find weed enough... thats why its best never to try hard drugs in the first place.
