Price of RS2 Gold on Feb. 1st

Hey guys . I'd like to get some community opinions on the price of gold (IRL $ per Million)

It's currently at 1.80$/M on average, with some people having unique methods allowing them to sell at 1.3-1.5, and some bug-abusers selling at 1$/M. I've heard rumors that it will inflate to the 2.5-3 range..but I feel that that just doesn't make any sense.

i say it goes down much why? cause u dont need any xfer methods etc. wich makes everything easier.

 

I think they will hit $2 because there is suddenly going to be more of a demand rather then a supply, because people won't have to trust others on their accounts.

 

Sellers would have far less time to obtain the gold - huge stocks would be needed: Large amount of time needed.

Demand > Supply = Larger prices.

 

XFER Methods required the gold seller to have access to the buyers account..free trade means this is no longer a problem. Which then means

More Buyers = Higher Prices (due to a higher demand..)

How did you determine the figure of "2$"?

Sellers and stock seem to never be a problem..I know it won't be for me

However with you hinting on supply, I'd like to throw in: returning pkers/stakers means initially more GP and Rares will be introduced into the game...

 

I'm pretty sure there will be some cheap gold in the 1st week(s). After that it will raise again. inb4irlflip?

 

Gold sellers have always done this since Runescape first began.

 

At first it will be cheap, it may stay that way due to more accounts and an overall higher amount of GP in the game...who knows only time will tell

 

Hypothetically speaking, with all of the returning old school stakers/pkers coming back and their introduction of rares/gp into runescape, the price of gold should become cheaper.

However, since the random loot pvp sytem will be gone, there will no longer be any new gp introduced into the economy.

There's so many variables going on that its near impossible to determine the price of gold. All you can do is speculate.

 

It will be 2-4$, because of the massive bans to botters, new players come back.

 

its will be under .80/mil, because we all know that whole "massive ban of botters on the 14th" never happened. Not to mention everyone and their grandmother will be able to get millions of gp off their mule accounts.

 

UNDER .8/mil? That's the most ridiculous yet in my opinion. The "mass ban" is supposedly sync'd with the reintroduction of staking, wildy, and free trade..not with the beginning of a pointless "checking for interest" poll...I believe a lot of botters will be banned on the first. Hopefully I'm not one or I'm out a few hundred mil...

 

why exactly would they wait to ban botters, instead of just banning them as soon as they are caught? litterally the dumbest thing ive heard all day.

 

Think of it if you were a botter..you have a level 3 botting fishing, you make 2M on the first day and you get banned. Oh wow, I lost 2M. No big deal, I'll go make another account.

OR

You're botting an account, fishing. You bot it for a month and make 300M. Then you get banned. I JUST LOST 300M AND A MONTH OF TIME!? Fuck that, I'm not doing that again. /ragequit

That's my theory, and those would be my thoughts if it happened to me.

 

IMO prices will stay the same or go a bit lower.
Although there will be a demand, there will also be alot more people able to sell gold.
People can also make noob accounts and give money to their other accounts, but can be a long process.

 

Why would you keep all your money after 1 month on a throwaway account ?
After every week I transfer all the cash to other accounts, since it usually takes Jagex 1 week to ban.

 

At first I didn't think much change because currently you're paying extra for the person to carry out the method and some of them take time to transfer but without needing to do anything and the trade being instant would make the prices lower.
Now, there's going to be more demand making prices get higher, meaning it should be around the same?

 

@Parox because pre-update the majority of people had no way of transferring the money..

 

I think it will inflate due to people not needing to trust someone else on their account which is what puts alot of people off.

 

Calling it now. Massive price deflation for a few weeks as all panic sellers with large stocks (merchers mostly) rush to sell their gold. Slow increase in price until stabilizing at higher than current price.
