Because you can "store" the rarity of a red-white partyhat into an item that's only 88m. Instead of having to spend 600m of your bank on the same thing.

Listen, what I'm saying is this.. when free trade comes back and people are able to pay let's say 2.0B(About a red? Not sure current street but lets say..) in straight GP for the wine then what's going to stop the wine from being valued at the same GP price as a red phat? There is no limit or GE to lock this price in any longer to "store" the value within it's cheap 88m current GE\mid trade value. Meaning this:

Red PHAT in GP: 2.0B
Wine: 2.0B

Seeing when free trade comes out the 88m(stored) will no longer be "stored" as there is no trade-limit. Now people will be able to pay the full GP price for the item since it was locked in at 88m in the GE but now with no limit can be purchased at it's actual price.

Trying to explain this the best I can here, prices are just an example.

Well I believe that rares should be valued upon their rarity. I understand people want to flash their rares around by wearing them but I don't see why easters, disks, pumpkins, and half wines couldn't be used the way they were; trades for buying\upgrading other rares.

But that's not how it's going to work apparently, not as of now anyway. People are dumping these rares as "junk" because once free-trade is reintroduced they will be paying with GP instead, why? I don't know.

I think they are all under-priced and I enjoyed the way it was when they were used in rare trades. But I'm somewhat excited about it because it's giving people who aren't as wealthy or fortunate as most of us rare holders a chance to finally get their hands on their favorite rares.

I believe they will all rise again in the future and be used once again as a traded item for buying\upgrading rares as I mentioned above.

But at this time I believe the half-wine is only worth a the value of a red-partyhat if that's what it's being traded for in-game. Simply due to the fact that when free trade comes back they will be only worth the same as a red partyhat ( if this is the case ) and no longer worth anymore than that.

So what I'm trying to say is in my own opinion I definitely would not pay anymore than a red partyhats value for this half-wine because after free-trade it will be a major loss if I were to pay more. So if you have any offers that are above a red-partyhat I'd advise taking them. Once free trade is reintroduced it will be valued, as I've mentioned several times, that of a red-partyhat.
