    Is this a good deal?

Hey guys. Im looking for a new computer in the $400-600 price range. I want something with a quad core processor and 4gbs or more of ram.

I also want something that can handle games pretty well.

    I came across this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883147590

is this a good deal? I dont think the graphics card is very good, but is it possible to upgrade it? Thanks!

Phenom is alright, graphics card could be 10x better, and don't forget to buy yourself a monitor. Also, I don't think anyone really needs a 1tb harddrive...

Power supply is absolutely atrocious. 250W is terrible.

All in all, I think you'd get a better deal if you compiled your own machine.

    Is this a good deal?

How easy is it to upgrade a graphics card?

And what difference would a different power supply make?

Well if you have a terrible power supply, your graphics and memory too I think doesn't work to anywhere near their AVERAGE potential. Also, I doubt the 250w PSU has decent rails. Without at least 12v or double rails, your PSU could fail pretty quickly..

Graphics cards are easy to replace, but they get expensive if you try to replace them regularly. You'd have better luck if you started with the best possible card that your budget will allow.

Oh, and HP tends to use extremely cheap off brand imitation parts that break exceptionally fast, another thing to watch out for

if you're planning on playing runescape don't worry about graphics. Just get one with intel built in graphics. So much cheaper if you don't hardcore game.

I don't think it'll work with your PSU. Another thing I'd check into is to make sure your chipset is compatible with DDR5 video cards. I don't know whether it is, you'd have to ask someone who's more experienced in computer parts..

I have the ATI Radeon HD 3400 in my laptop, and I can run starcraft II great if that helps you at all. And my laptop is by no means a gaming laptop at all.

ehh a HD 3400 would not be enough for starcraft to look good tbh. just try to build one your self. It would be much cheaper
