I am feeling so fucked

I play fulltilt poker and over the years im a huge losing player, lost about $800 overall on poker.

recently i put another $150 in and managed to run it up to $1.2k within 2 weeks. ( i played a different type of poker game and was a winner at it )

today i played my normal games and experienced some sickest beats. everything felt so unreal.

i got so pissed and mad i starting going moving up higher till i played $207 per game which was totally insane. the beats didnt stop and now im at $200.

i just told my parents i was withdrawing $1k, now i dont know what to tell them.

i feel so fucked and screwed up, sickest beats ever, i should have accepted them and moved on and not moved up, but now it's too late.

im really feeling very down now and have no explaination to my parents. im screwed

 

Gambling will do that to you, if I were you I would give your parents an explanation. If your honest with them there is less of a chance they will freak out on you. I had a similar problem and I tried hiding it from my parents but believe me, they find out eventually.

 

Try not to gamble again and find alternatives to it.
Tell your parents honestly what happened and stay away from gambling.

Gambling's an addiction and is one of the worst

 

That's the biggest mistake most poker players make. They start to win so they move up. NO. If you're winning, why change what you are doing? If you are winning at a certain game and stake, stick at it and keep winning. Don't try and be a big man and play games that will consume 1/5th of your bankroll if you lose.

 

One word: Job.

Gambling screws us all over, even R2Pleasent gambles or I've heard that he does.

He lost a lot of money, but he's got enough money for vacation? Because he has a good job.

Find a job, do your best to do so. And earn it back, forget about gambling, that will always:

Waste your time.
Lose money in the long run.

Having a legit job makes more money than gambling, since so many people cheat, and the gambling shops make money by making unfair chances.

 

Be straight up with them, if you don't tell them that you are gambling, chances are they will start to jump to conclusions; drugs, alcohol, cigarettes etc

If you tell them that you are gambling, and admit that you have a problem. I dont see why your parents would freak out, they will probably get help for you.

Which will stop this from happening.

 

I thought full tilt was free, or it is for me.
If you still want to gamble, play less stakes and get a job to make the money back up.
Get a punching bag. That can help relieve stress.

 

If I were you Id tell them straight up, and go on a vacation with no internet. :\ Also, try getting an addicting hobby. Honestly, though I dont know if this will work or not, try fapping more. A lot of guys get addicted to that and apparently it helps relieve stress and a ton of other shit. I think that even THAT would be better than gambling.):

 

I did the same thing, except it was drugs and a lot more money. By far your best option is to just get a job. Not only will you be making money but it will give you something to work at and also help in many other ways. I'm sure your parents won't care then. You can make $800 pretty quick.

If for some reason you can't or just don't want to get a job then offer to do some work for your parents.

 

is it your money or your parents, gambling can get really addiciting as you can keep if i was you just accept that you lost and move on you dont have to make it back again trust me, losing however much you lost should be a lesson dont try to win it back

 

Tell your parents now instead of hiding it and having them find out about it later on.
Don't feel bad about this either, because everyone makes mistakes in life, and hell, I remember when I was 13-14 I'd gamble with people at school and it is very much so addicting. Everyone makes mistakes in life, and the only thing you can do is try and correct it if you can, and move on.
Just stop gambling from now on and find something else to do. Play video games, skateboarding, etc.

If you cant quit, seek help... trust me your 800usd loss over time would turn into 8000.

 

so you lost? I only gamble in person because computers can basically give you whatever cards they want and take your money legally because you gambled with it. going to a real casino will solve the problem.

 

when you gamble, you always have to know when to stop.
if you don't know how to stop your self you will always lose money.

Op I've actually played lots on fulltilt poker, I had tons of swings and I've finally quit. I ended up down about $80 dollars or so in total but there were times when I was up 800 and other times when I was down like 1100 lol. Honestly, just stop playing. You're not smart enough to be dwan or galfond, and it's just pointless trying. Also fulltilt (and other poker sites) rake so aggressively at low stakes that it's near impossible to win (you can be the best player at the table and still be -ev with how it's raked, it's stupid). No offense and I'm sure you're decent but you're likely tricking yourself into believing you are a winning player because of the variance at times. Every poker player thinks they're better than they are. I know poker isn't even gambling, but it's still addictive and it's better to stop playing.

Send fulltilt an email asking to close your account, and sit down with your parents explaining what happened and how you've already closed the account down and are done with it. Then get a job and make some money off that, and if necessary repay your parents (I'm assuming it was there money but who knows.)

Ah, gambling. Yeah, it's a great rush but it is a horrible habit. If you want to get rid of it uninstall Fulltilt, and fess up to your parents, they should understand addiction.
