Can a .GIF be editted to have transparent background?

I didn't know where to post this, either in help or requests, cuz it's like both... :/ So I'm posting here.

I'd like to know if a .gif image can be editted to have a transparent background and, if it is possible, how.

I'd like to make this gif with transparent background:

If it's possible, could anyone make it for me?

I tried seprating them into frames. There are 28 frames... And I could make all the 28 pictures transparent and then put them together again, but i fail at doing that in photoshop, takes me 1 hour per picture :/ Maybe there's an easier way or something...

    Thanks in advance :)
