How Does Jagex Detect Account Sharing?

For people who provide services (quests, torso, fire cape, etc.), can they be banned for account sharing?

Can they look at the IP Addresses and see which IP has been on multiple accounts? For example, someone provides services and doesn't change his IP. He goes on his main, and dozens of other accounts from the same IP.

Will he be banned?

If you login in the same time, Jagex can detect this.

And if you PM in game or in public saying anything that reveals that you're account sharing.

 

Yes they check IP's.
I don't think they are like "HEY HE PLAYED ON 300 ACCS THIS WEEK".

But they really do check "Hey, 99% of the IP's are from wisconsin, now its from hong kong and its making 2m/hour".

Thats what I think, never been a jmod so cant really say.

 

They usually check IPs only if its continuously and rapidly switching around. If you take some time in between they wont notice.

If I saw someone log in from California, then 1 hour later, log in from New York. I would be suspicious.

 

I don't think they care about account sharing/services like us at all.
in the past 1.5year I've logged onto over 500 accounts. none of them ever got banned.
on my own accounts I talk about my black market moneymaking freely, "I've made over 2k usd from doing fire capes lol"
nothing ever happened to any of my accounts.
even been talking about it in jmods cc etc (only got me kicked from the channel)

also, jagex doesn't care a fuck about multilogging, been doing that in the same world for the past 5 years.

i've shared an account with my friend for over 3 years now. never got in trouble for it.

 

I've been sharing an account for over 5 years, they don't seem to enforce the rule.

 

I share accounts, I bought gold+ skilling+ so thats 4 players logged onto my account in 1 week and it was fine lol

 

use a proxy, better safe tehn sorry...

 

i have been sharing accs with my friend for years. nothing ever happened. just dont be like "yeah i share my acc with my friend," in public.

 

its kinda like RWTing, they really cant catch you through system detection, mostly just through being reported. I've shared accounts with my friend down the street from me for years, and we've never been caught. Just don't go blabbing about it in public chat ;]

 

My old main got banned for contributing to a RWT organisation (donated like 10M to Fagex.net?) I assume they track IP's then and only enforce it when they feel like it.

It's hard for them to be positive it's account sharing with the possibilities of a VPN/Proxy being used but I'm guessing log-ins from different locations, far away and this keeps happening for a long period of time.
Like if I'm on from UK for 6 hours, then I come of and a friend from Italy comes on for 6 hours, 6 hours from California and a 6 hour break for month or something.

 

first character i had was banned for RWT, so i bought like 5 mil again when i made a 2nd and traded them a lobster for it instead of just taking money for nothing. character got away 2nd time lol.

 

Ok, then how do I get on two accounts at once to trade with each other without being banned?

Will going on RSBot for one and browser client on another work?

 

the only thing ever happened to me in 5 years of playing my account (maxed meele) got locked for whatever reason i do not know... lol

 

I've been sharing an account with someone in the middle east for 3 years and nothing as happened. I don't believe they check unless they think something is up.
