Diablo III - Bigger than WoW?

Do you guys think Diablo III will be bigger than World of Warcraft? I am very excited to play it; I was addicted to Diablo II, probably spent half my life as a teenager playing D2. Blizzard has now catapulted to the #1 developper for PC Games, so I wonder...

Will Diablo III be the biggest PC game, ever?

 

Bigger? I doubt bigger. I reckon it will become a huge hit and will be as popular in terms of the amount of players online.

I am the same as you, I played D2 through most of my teenage life. It is a brilliant hack and slash game.

The game so far looks brilliant, and I can't wait to get it. Hopefully they will release it before summer, when I have the most free time

 

It won't come close to WoW in terms of number of players. I don't see people leaving WoW to try out D3, the player base is going to mainly be comprised of D1 & 2 players. I still think it is going to kick ass though.

 

The gameplay and graphics have envolved drasticly from Diablo 2 i myself have diablo 2 and expansions I might get diablo 3 It look epic in a video i seen new classes and stuff like that A specific that looks really cool and i would like is called 'Monk' Class it has epic combat skills.

 

No, too many World of Warcraft players like World of Warcraft too much. The people who has played Diablo I or II or LOD, or whatever, are going to be playing Diablo III. World of Warcraft players seem too "PROUD" to play Diablo III.

Well, I believe the majority of World of Warcraft players will be sticking to World of Warcraft, instead of converting over to Diablo III. Have you played Diablo I or Diablo II, maybe with Lord of Destruction?

I think a large amount of WoW players also played the Diablo series. I mean, Blizzard's most comparable game to WoW so far is Diablo, seeing as they are both RPG's.

If you compare WoW to Diablo, Diablo easily wins.. atleast it doesn't feel like your grinding your levels up.

I suppose some people like that feeling but anyway, there could be a small chance.

 

Personally..Diablo 3 will be so much better then world of warcraft.. i played D1,D2 and LOD i was addicted to it.. w0w is to easy so i think diablo 3 will be defenitly close to overpassing w0w

 

As long as Blizzard continues to fully support WoW by adding new patches and expansions (oh wait, why wouldn't they), I can't ever see WoW being outdone by any other MMO popularity wise. At least that's how it is for now.

But, I guess we'll just wait and see... I could be completely wrong.

 

Well it really depends if they are going to have online updates like new bosses / areas etc like with a new expansion, maybe not just a single expansion like Diablo II

 

d3 wont be even remotely close to d3 with gameplay aswell so i dont see this happening, i really hope d3 will be good, been waiting for ages to play this, i hope they dont let us down

 

Most likely. All of the Blizzard players will play. Old and new Diablo players as well.

 

well figure this its been over a decade that diablo 3 hasnt been released so it think that a lot of D3 players matured from it... so if you compare it to wow i dont hink you will get even numbers Wow has built up a big community base of players but im a D3 player lets hope for the best!!

 

^This. I Played wow since beta and Rs since 2002. I ended up quitting WoW because after wotlk it was too easy. Think about it, my third lvl 80 took 7 days played time to achieve. How many days does it take to get a melee 99 on Runescape, much much more.

I also was a big D2 player back in the day I plan on playing DIII as well, still no release date.

I believe that if DIII does not have a monthly charge like WoW then it will become an even greater hit! Many people that I know (In the 100's) have quit WoW because of the high expense rates.. Little do they realize that they pay for the developing of DIII I played DIII for many years on end, I actually just quit playing it 2 months ago, I sold many mule accounts, and items. Make a fortune off it when D2 first came out. I think that YES WoW players will give D3 a shot, I mean... who wouldnt TRY it?

 

yeah like some say, i dont think people will quit WoW just to play D3 although many will play it but majority of the players will be the ones who have been waiting for it not from other games.

 

No, I don't think it will outdo WoW. I myself have played D1, DII w/ LoD. I plan on playing D3 while I bot on my WoW accounts lol. It looks amazing and I can't wait to get my hands on the collector's edition.
