About me

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my UE application. I am A., I live in Belgium and I am sixteen years old. I play soccer 4 times a week, and I love to spend time with friends. Apart from that, I also like to read books, more specific, history books. History is a subject that I find extremely interesting. A lot of people may deem it useless, but by studying the past, you can often conclude what is likely to happen in the future. I have a girlfriend, and in february we will have been together for one year. It's a start, huh? I also am really into music, pretty much all genres.

Why should I be a User Educator?

I see myself as a gentle character. I am not the type of guy who would lose their patience because someone doesn't understand how to crop an image, for example. Instead of getting angry, I will help until he or she succeeds.

I believe that user education is a rather important section. It is a miserable feeling to have an unanswered question, so I tend to help everywhere I can. It gives newcomers (or others) a comfortable feeling to know that there is someone to help them with their problems. I deem myself a versatile person, I can help others out on various subjects. I know the (very) basics of programming, I have experience with online money transfers, I have played RuneScape and WoW for more than 4 years, but the most important of all is that I care about others. If I see someone who is really desparate I will do everything to help him. I know that that doesn't really sound very modest, but I couldn't describe it any other way. We are all humans, and I see helping others as a natural urge.I am very approachable, and anyone can send me a PM concerning anything any time, and I will try my best to help them out.

To give newcomers (including me!) a chance to familiarise themselves with the community, and just to get to know eachother, I registred an IRC channel that is available for everyone. After 24 hours we had 20 active chatters and today we still have a lot of active chatters. I am not going to advertise the channel here, but there's a really good atmosphere and I can genuinely say that I succeeded my attempt to get to know the community a little better.




I, Nyx, claim that the guides I have included in my application are completely my own work. They were made using my own knowledge and I have not plagiarized another person's work. I accept that if my guides are found to be plagiarized, even partially, I will be forumbanned from User Education indefinitely.

Your application seems to be coming along nicely. I'd recommend familiarizing yourself with the site for a bit longer before sending in your application in, however your guides seem rather strong and helpful.

For the majority of comments before Brendan's, I suggest you look at THIS sticky, as what you're doing is worth an infraction.

Nyx, I'd suggest you become a bit more active and give people the opportunity to get to know you better. Your application in itself looks good though, good job.

Since you are basically both advising me the same thing, I'll give you the same answer . I am NOT planning on completing this application soon. I realise that it is important to get more active and perhaps a bit known before applying for User Educator. Nonetheless, thanks for your tips and kind words!
