Rift: Planes of Telera

So, I picked up a Rift VIP BETA code back at the second BETA event. Been playing it and seeing it through as it progresses. At first, I wasn't pleased at all. The game seemed unfinished - even if it was a BETA. As the events have gone on, I have to definitely say that my view on the game has really turned around.

If you're playing Aion, WoW, EQ2, GW, or any other MMO, I definitely recommend trying Rift when it releases. So far, the graphics are amazing, yet not demanding at all. It's not an Aion grind fest. Players are decent (but still far from many good players). PVP is fun. The ability to customize and have your own one-of-a-kind class is fucking hardcore.

Anyone else pre-ordering or trying this on release? I've got the collector's edition on pre-order at the moment. Quite happy with myself. Playing on Lotham - Defiant.

 

I'm pre ordering, without much knowledge of the game. What is the subscription status/price? I'm trying it simply because I am thirsting for a new MMO to try, but it does not look that promising. They use races that are exactly the same as every other MMO on the market, but use names to make it sound different. Changing "Blood Elf" to "Bahmi" doesn't change anything. From the site, all I see is another Runes of Magic clone that will eventually fall apart or sink to the Item Transaction payment plan.
Like I said, I have not played any of the game yet, but from what I see, it looks the same as every other MMO. What are your experiences Good Times?
