Droid Phones

I have a question about the phones from verizon. The Droid phones, now it says there is a 15$ data plan. Do i have to use the droid with the data plan is there anyway to cancel the data plan

 

Are you trying to get a droid phone without actually having a data plan?

And I doubt they will let you do that, since it is a 'contract' between you and the phone company. If you wanted to get out of it, they will make you pay.

 

This isn't possible from what I know. You have to buy a data plan with any smartphones or 'premium' phones which is what the phone you are looking at would be. I guess you could buy the phone on contract and then cancel the contract which would be expensive. Then you'd have the phone with no contract and you could just use it as a media player and wifi device if that is what you wanted. Certainly more expensive than you would want, especially considering you don't want to pay for a data plan in the first place.

 

You can't get a smartphone, which in this case includes a Droid without having a Data plan. If you cancel the data plan, I'm 99% sure they cancel your phone service as well.

 

Honestly. if you don't want a data plan, why not just get a normal phone? You don't need a Droid phone if all you're going to do is text and call.

 

You couldnt get a droid without using data...it would be impossible lol. Ive used almost a gig in 2 weeks. There is no way around it, and the 15 dollar plan is a limited plan. 30 is unlim.

 

I have the Motorola DROID and they required the $30 unlimited data plan for me to be able to get it. Honestly if you get an Android device with no data plan you're basically paying however much for an oversized paperweight. It's essentially useless without it, unless all you do is text/call.. in which case, you should just get a more basic phone.
