    Gaming laptop.

As I'm sure many of you know Christmas just passed us by(zomg naowai.) Anyways my parents told me that they would be willing to pay $800 Usd for a new laptop as I will be going off to college(University for the Europeans). I was planning on getting a pretty sweet gaming laptop and that's where you guys come in. I have absolutely no idea what kind to get. If you guys and gals wouldn't mind telling me what kind you would recommend. Please no spam posts just spouting off a random laptop. It would help if you guys could tell me the name, specs, and relative price of the laptop. Note I would be willing to throw in at least as much as them to help pay for it so that brings the total to about $1600. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Please stop telling me to not get a laptop. I need one that I can carry to class. Note I will not be using the computer solely for playing games I will need it to function as a computer for my schooling.

Hmm how good do you want your games to look? Do you want newer games or older ones. Laptops aren't the best way to go gaming, especially because of their need for power, so playing while not plugged in isn't a good idea. I don't know any of the current models, but if you went to dell or alienware you could find something suitable. Maybe even a good deal.

    DO NOT BUY A LAPTOP.

If your really into gaming find a nerd and build your own PC it's alot cheaper and you'll save yourself alot of hassle and it's actually pretty fun to build a computer. But if you must get a laptop in my experience don't get a HP try to get a Toshiba.

Yea, don't get an HP like .Steam. said. I had one and like plastic piece of shit broke.

I would recommend a Dell XPS, I have a few friends that have one and they run pretty nicely.

But otherwise, I'm not really sure.

I've only used Dell and HP but I do know that if you buy an Alienware, you're just buying the name. You can easily buy a Dell with the same specs for cheaper.

Dell & Alienware are way over-priced for their gaming system, HP is a good computer regardless of what they say i just got a new laptop from them and play's Runescape and WOW perfectly. Sleek Design & Color also.....

idk why people hate on HPs. Hp has a great line of entertainment notebooks specifically designed for gaming. I have always had great experiences with both HP desktops and HP laptops(notebooks). i use to have an HP entertainment notebook for gaming and it was amazing (till it broke from me getting it too many viruses from dling stuff) :)

Get a dell, they aren't that bad for gaming but as .Steam said, try to get a desktop computer, much much better for gaming but if you have to get a laptop just go for a Dell and I wouldn't recommend HP's my dad's was pretty shit after he got his didn't like it that much.

Dells have a pretty nice big screen for fullscreen or games like WoW which looks hawt <3

Don't buy a laptop... you're paying a premium for shitty hardware and the name hike.

Spend the $800 on parts and build yourself an awesome gaming desktop with that money because you can.

honestly I have a hp and it's crap the battery life is shit and it's just overall very laggy and it's only a bit of a year old. I would suggest one of the alienware computers or build your own pc definetly cheaper and a better idea.
