First people complain that the guides section is messy, the guides are crap, need to be verified, and there are multiples of each guide being sold.

Yet you complain that the guides are kept in a database so that they can keep track of which guides are being sold so make sure the section stays clean?

You cant have it both ways. Take your pick.

 

As FireZ says, the positives of having the section where verified guides kept far outweigh the negatives. I was simply wondering if OGVs were allowed to freely use the guides for their own benefit with no repercussions.

 

Makes sense. I believe for personal use, then yes. However if an OGV used a guide he verified for financial gain (i.e. implementing the guide in a business they run), I imagine there would be consequences for it, the least of which would be losing their OGV status.

 

How is that fair? If I or another user want to use it for personal use, we would have to purchase it. The OGV should only use the guide (methods, spots, etc) to verify the guide. After that, unless they purchase the guide themselves, they should act as if they've never heard of it before.

 

If they want to use a guide they verify, then thats what they get for volunteering their time, effort, and often times RS resources for doing so. Thats how its fair.

 

Then go to a different forum and sell it. It's the best measure here. I highly doubt that any of the other OGV's use the forum for anything more than posting the guide (to ensure that duplicates aren't sold - which helps you). You really think that we are selling your guide on the side? If you are that suspicious then don't sell guides here.
