[Staking] Get Defence on my Pure? [Help]

I got a lvl 67 acc that is
95 mage
90 range
12 pray
2 def
60 attack
66 str

I want to stake on him and my question is should I leave it as 2 defence or should I get my defence up and go range/mage tank staking?

 

12 pray already ruins it. make it a pker.

But yea, I think your best bet would be mage staking. I don't know too much about it, but I think it's just Ice Barrage if you're full HP, and Blood Barrage if you're not. I'm sure there's a lot more techniques and shit I've never heard of, because I've never staked, but that seems like the gist of it.

Only problem is since you have prayer, you'll probably lose most fights your level if you do anything other than mage stakes. Other mage stakers will have the prayer levels, so it won't really matter, but against anyone else it could hurt you.

Also, what's your HP? You may want to get that up, it seems like you should be a much higher combat level with those stats, but I could be wrong. EDIT: Never mind, just plugged it in a combat calc and 77-79 HP should do fine. My bad.

 

I would recommend mage staking. any prayer lowers your chance of winning a stake, because most good stakers are 1 prayer. and i say yes to defence, and get 70

 

Dt reqs quests is about 12 .. Don't listen to theses new cats you could be a Mage staker get 99 hp you don't really need def

Yea I used to mage stake a lot back in the day on my main so i pretty much know how it works and my bad my hp lvl is 80 and my combat is actually 68 but that doesnt really make much of a difference lol.

And should I get defence because i feel like the majority of mage stakers are going to have defence so i dont want to be at a disadvantage or anything?

 

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that mage defence is based on your magic level, not your defence level. The only way you'd have a disadvantage is if armor is left turned on and they're in Mystic, Ahrims, Corrupt Zurials, or anything like that. I'm not 100% on that though.

 

Ahhh well if im 2 def im definately not gona put armor on but i always thought that your defence level affected the amount someone can hit on you no matter wat style of attack it is but i could be wrong.

Can someone clarify this?

 

staking is for 1 pray/def, ur acc is better for pk (dont get def up)

 

According to Google, the only things that have an effect on magic defence are:
1: The caster's Magic level
2: The Magic attack bonus of the equipment the caster is wearing
3: Any Magic prayers the caster has activated.
4: The target's Magic level
5: The Magic defence bonus of the equipment the target is wearing
6: Any Magic prayers the target has activated (including Protect from Magic)

So the only benefit people with high defence would have is the gear that they can potentially wear. As long as your HP is high, you should be able to hold your own against a 138 mage staking if the duel options are right.

 

Just pk on that account and bot up a separate staker.

 

Ah man I just googled this as well and found out that magic defence is 30% from your defence level and 70% from you magic level

By another staker do you mean another mage staker or another type of staker?

Because I really dont want to have to quest up another mage staker lol

If you are SOOO familiar with staking why are you asking us if you should turn your pure with prayer levels into a staker..

 

Get 10-20 defense 30 if you want turmoil, 45 for zerker.

Zerkers are the best in my opinion, as they can wield barrows hands, rune defneder, they block soem attacks etc...
