    To vs Too vs Two

Just a quick guide for those who don't know this. Most of you do but I've seen suprising mis-use recently (possibly by some who have English as a second language) here on Sythe and I thought I'd make a quick and educating guide.

    two: the number: 2
-Sentence: I'll have two of these and three of those, please.

to: preposition: short form of "in order to"; used as 1st 1/2 of verb infinitive (to + verb)
-Sentence 1: I want to go to that store.
-Sentence 2: To be or not to be, that is the question.

too: adverb: an excessive degree of; likewise
-Sentence 1: Don't add too much of that or it will explode!
-Sentence 2: You too should try this bread.

I'm sorry, but when I first read the title, I lol'd. I don't know why but I did.

Now to your guide, I really do like the idea of it. You can make it into an extremely helpful, useful guide which everybody would use. I'll admit it, I didn't know how to use to and too until early this year. I had to search in google to, too and two, to find out how to use it properly.

Information: I like the way you added you structured it to show every form you can say it. It's clear cut and precise, easily understandable and well a 9/10 for the information you had. What I suggest is making this guide into a massive one, that includes other commonly misused words such as, there, their and they're.

Not much else to say, but if you add other words this can be an excellent guide.

I actually almost lol'd at the idea myself when I first thought of it, but this is not supposed to be some sort of joke. I'm just trying to educate the users.

I agree that other words should be added. Thanks for your review.

Very good idea--simple, but effective. However, I am skeptical it'll raise the grammar level by very much. :( Other than us to, people are simply two lazy too read and/or listen too this guide.

Many, Including me, Have english as a second language.
So reminders like this are very helpfull how stupid they may seem.
I often have trouble with words that sound/mean the same thing, but then again do not.

    Thanks for posting.
    Just throwing it out there,
How about this (or use another thread) being a general "When to use wich word" sticky.
I know others have a lot of trouble using the 's in the right places.
Or misspelled plurals (I admit to making a mistake every now and then aswell).
But you can see what I am getting at.

I like this guide rsaccounttrader. Although fairly short, there isn't really a way to elaborate on the subject. You could have possibly used a few more underlining/coloring tools to spice it up a little, but really it isn't needed for a good like this. The examples used also make it easier for member to understand the differences.

With that said I think that it's a good guide, and should come in handy for some fellow members who have maybe forgotten the difference between the three. Keep up the good work! :D

Maybe you could make a complete grammar guide, with more words that are ambiguous which are commonly misspelt.

Maybe add some other commonly misused words such as:

    than, then

    there, their, they're

Good start to a grammar guide. But were expecting you not to make any mistakes writing this guide ;)

You should add other words such as there, their and they're etc.
I have noticed A LOT of people don't how to use certain words, so this is real useful guide in my opinion. :)

edit: It wasn't until about 2 years when I realised grammar is important.
