What Next? You decide.

Don't move over to Wow. I mean perhaps we can focus on it a bit more but wait for a while. Now a ton of runescape users are going to be coming back and could possibly bring a lot of activity to sythe. Here are my suggestions.

- $50+ Donors can change their own UT

-Bring back the IRC. It was a lot of fun in there and I met some cool people that I probably wouldn't have met otherwise.

- Introduce a few more fun ranks? I'm not sure on this one but I'm sure a few more fun ones would be interesting.

-Perhaps start advertising? To my knowledge we don't advertise at all and if we did I think we could get a lot more users since at the moment Powerbot is kind of beating us with active users each day.

That's all I can think of on the spot. I'm sure I will come up with other things and post them later though.

 

I'm also in favor of bringing back the irc. It was a great implementation/a work in progress that just needed to be 'known' more. If regular announcements were made to join the irc for safer trade and community talk (and possibly even have a sub section added for it in Our Community), the irc could be pretty active.

Then full support from me for $50 and above donators being able to change them freely.

 

@sythe.org emails for staff and donors $25+ it would allow you to may sythe.org msn's it would look professional and it would pay for its self as it would make people want to donate.

 

I don't understand what you mean by "move more into WoW"..we're not "into" runescape. We allow users to do what they wish here on Sythe, no one section is advertised more than another due to site format.

My suggestions:

• Increase activity of the Music section.
  
• Become more strict in the SFA section, I'm tired of overused arguments and the same old debates.

Apparently you guys banned a word that my msn contains. Not cool.

 

All Donators are currently part of the same usergroup named just that - "Donator".
All members in this usergroup have EXACTLY the same forum abilities - and that is the ability to see the Donator lounge and appear invisible if they please. Anything above that for higher level donators is applied by Administrators - Userimages, Usertitles, Ranks - as they are purely cosmetic and NOT part of the site mechanics.

Basically this means that if we were to allow $50+ Donators to change their own Usertitles, then they'd have to be in a completely separate usergroup (which of course means creating a new one).
I'm not sure whether Matthew would be happy with creating a new Usergroup, and currently it's not as simple as "allowing you to change your own usertitle" since enabling that feature would enable ALL donators to do it - not just $50+.

 

I'd like to see Official Guide Verifiers having a rank, or some other way to prove who they are. I don't think I can see any issues with it because people are invited to be an OGV, rather than applying so they won't be doing it to become trusted. And the majority of OGV's are moderators, OMM's and higher ranked members anyway.

The IRC to come back with a webclient. Possibly remove the need for 5 staff support for a pardon vote.

Giving all $50+ donors the ability to change their own usertitle.

 

It isn't very hard to do. It just means all donator perm changes must be done to two groups, adding a very marginal amount of extra work.

 

It makes donating services even more complicated.

Donater 1 - Can change user title

Somebody donates under $50 dollars, they go into Donater user group, and over they go into Donater 1 user group. If somebody donates $25, then another $30, move them into the other user group then everything else is exactly the same.

 

To those who have suggested moderators per every subsection let me tell you why that would not work. For sectionals, the main activity is spam reports, if you have one moderator per subsections, (IE gold selling) then if there is a spam report for that section, you would have to wait until that moderator got online to do the appropriate actions to that reported post. It would not be a very efficient way of modding.

I am in extreme favor of IRCSythe webclient. This would no only provide a safer, more efficient way to trade safely, but allow those who need help with their accounts or resets to go talk directly to an admin.

I DO NOT support the idea of sythe.org emails.

 

IRC web client and also the ability to post with the option of columns would be nice. especially for extremely long posts and sythe monthly.

 

For those who've suggested them, @sythe.org emails are extremely unlikely because of the the way they can be faked, which would open the door to a lot of scamming.
