    I really need help...

    I go to the best High School in my state. I have a 2.71 GPA. I could get a 4.0 without a problem..but I have problems. :/

    • I'm tired all the time, sleeping doesn't help, caffeine doesn't help...
    • I'd rather be on Sythe, downloading music, be on Facebook, etc. than do homework...
    • I hate worksheets..the only part of school I try at are the essays, I actually enjoy them.
    • I only try in certain subjects as well; English, Spanish, and Networking. Being bilingual is great for colleges and Networking is what I plan to do when I grow up..i'm #1 in my grade level for my major, but somewhere in the 60th percentile when it comes to class rank...
    • I'm very intelligent, i'm not trying to be cocky. But I just don't try. I don't know what else to do. For example, I should be writing an essay right now about the mongols for an AP class but I just don't feel like it, i'd rather type this shit up.
I don't know what to do. I know a few other people have the same problem..but we seem to all just be stuck in a stupor. Post away.

You probably don't need to hear this from me but, sometimes you gotta do things you don't want to. Your going to be dealing with this shit for a few more years, studying subjects that you hate or doing stupid worksheets. You go to the best high school in your state, dude you gotta take advantage of that. As for your lack of energy a good diet , hygiene , exercise ,plenty of sleep , and etc. Another healthy thing is to keep your ego, self esteem, and priorities in check. If not college is going to be hell for you. Best wishes Weasel.

When you say your always tired and sleeping doesn't help, how long are you sleeping for?
You can also sleep TOO MUCH which leads to being tired all the time.

I agree with what Bear is saying as well, sometimes you just have to knuckle down and do things you don't like doing in order to have the future you want.

Actually this is because you are too intelligent. If you were dumb then you would know that you are dumb (GPA) and you would try harder. Now that you have a decent GPA without trying, you developed a habit of procrastination.

    My suggestions.

    - Get your ass moving. Join for-fun sports leagues
    - Join a gym; once you start seeing results it will keep you going. Going to gym alone increases your activity levels as well as self-confidence and brings back the "do-it" attitude
    - Write down your 3 year goals on a blank paper (dont type! write by hand), then divide them in to 1 year goal and then that into "this month goal"
    - Take "this month goals" on a sticky note and paste it on your monitor. Each time you sit on computer to procastinate, you will see it and feel guilty. Plus, once you start working on it, everything will come in.

It is proven that if you do something for 21 days (minimum) it will become your habit. All you need is do one of the above for 21 days.

Note: Nobody will carry your ass around or pay for you if you don't got cash. I am 27 and earning 3,500 after taxes and trust me, it aint enough (not being cocky here) So don't be aiming low bro. Use your brain for good!

    Can you explain please?

    That makes sense.

    1) I play club soccer and I've already been looked at by college scouts.
    2) ^^
    3) This never works for me.
    4) Guilt tripping myself? There's an interesting idea..

    • Do you fall asleep quickly? Do you wake up a lot at night? Do you wake up to go to the bathroom frequently? Or are you thristy?
    • I have the same problem. Not sure if it helps any, but I always try to make my homework before I turn on the computer because I know that I probably won't quit computering just to do my homework...
    • Can't help you :(.
    • Can't help you, not familiar with the school system your talking about :s.
    • Try to avoid doing all work on the evening before, if you work on it in smaller proportions you should be fine. I know it's hard to do stuff when it isn't really necessary, but try it anyway.

When I try to. Again, not to brag, but sometimes I'll stay up texting a few girls or texting a friend about tomorrow's soccer game or something.

No, I never wake up at night.

    No.

I sometimes drink milk/water before bed..but like I said, I don't wake up due to this.

My family does have a history of this..and I know being diabetic..ugh, that's another story. I have never heart of diabetes being related to energy levels.

I sleep a consistent 7-9 hours on weekdays, with about 6-11 hours of sleep on the weekends. (sometimes I'll pull all nighters, or other times I have priorities..as in something important to do the next day)

^: But irregular sleep patterns are characteristic of my age group, yet still no one seems to be as effected by fatigue as I am..
