**I think this should be added in all market forums**

"Before clicking a link right click it then click copy url, then pull up a notepad and make sure the link is the same as shown. Then if it looks legit, use it, if not, report it."

I think it's much better at preventing these links because the majority of the links are posted as something else, like "imageshack.us/pic/(bunch of numbers or w/e)"

Honestly such a small task could save your account and possibly your computer. :p

If you use a browser like google chrome, hovering over a link normally shows the actual link at the bottom of the page.

Also common sense gets you far, if it looks suspicious just don't click it. Especially if its persons first post, its most likely something fishy.

It's not that hard to avoid things like this. Like Karl said, just hover over it. No need to go through all of that copying and pasting. Just use some common sense and it'll keep you out of most trouble. Also have an AV program. That will help catch a lot of things that you miss.

Yeah but think about the people who don't know this, I think it should be posted, plus I'm sure there's a few ways to get by that.

There is no way to get by it. Hovering cannot be avoided by any sort of sortware...not to mention the type of hacking you're talking about is public knowledge and can be done by anyone just by googling things.

For example, you see a picture, hover it, and it says imageshack.us.img42 ..ALL of the URLs beginning with imageshack.us are owned by imageshack.us . You can't insert your own webpages under an owned domain name.

However, if you hover over a picture and see adylf.com or llll.rar or something, it's more than likely to be malicious and you should avoid clicking on it.
