my return to Sythe and RuneScape

hey guys, i've been a long time member (since before the crash in 07) and i stopped playing for a while.. maybe a year or two and hence i stopped frequenting these forums. i'm 20 now, ive grown up a bit but i miss the game. i see that theres some new changes on their way (to make the game like it used to be).

anyway, i just wanted to let you guys know that i'm back (if you remember me) and i want to know whats been happening in RuneScape? i see theres some new weapons, new mini games..

Whats some things i should be looking out for pking now (compared to the Bounty Hunter caves back in the day?

do you like the game now and are you excited for the anticipated changes?

 

Old PK/Trade has a good chance of coming back in a week from now

 

wow thats very soon, i expected a month or more. i enjoyed the old wilderness a lot, so itll be fun to get back in there!

what will this mean for the Grand Exchange and rare prices?

 

Rare prices will go down and grand exchange will stay with a recommended item price but no max or lowest price.

 

i see. would the rare prices not go up due to having no restrictions on the price?

i guess its the same argument for them to fall.. but i can see it as a way for players to make more money, so who knows. thoughts anyone?

 

Nobody knows alot of info, Jagex has kept this one pretty tight, and be wary of some fake so called PMod forum stuff, its edited so don't believe alot of stuff you see.

SOME STUFF THAT HAS BEEN INTRODUCED:

-hand cannons, watch out for those its the voiders new favorite toys over the dark bow, they hit hard and can KO you in a rush if your not paying attention, plus there alot cheaper than dark bows so I suspect they will be used alot more when the old wilde comes back as people will have to keep prayer points up to protect one item

-with the release of these new areas in the handcannon quest, a new fish can be fished called a rocktail, it heals more than a shark and can actually overheal you slightly if you eat it at full hp so if you plan on risking alot, you might as well throw out a few extra bucks on some of these babies, they could keep you alive.

-Extreme and overload potions have been added as high level herblore content, they are the next tier up from super potions, and give slightly more stat boosts, but it is yet to be confirmed if they will be allowed after the update during pvp combat as they are currently not allowed in bounty hunter and pvp worlds.

-There has been an overall enourmous inflation of cost in rsgp so if you had an old account you stopped playing on in 2007, hopefully you had alot of items and less wealth in gold, as now-a-days gold seems easier to come by, and items cost alot more of it so theoretically a gold piece isn't worth what it used to be.

-With the release of the dungeoneering skill, new weapons are out and are currently allowed. They go by the name of chaotic, require 80 attack to wield, and have the highest stats in the game, so the new (most dps) weapon is the chaotic rapier, followed by the chaotic maul which has strength stats higher than a godsword while attacking more accurate as well. They do however require charging as they degrade after 10 hours of combat, so its quite costly to use them, and should you lose them, its quite alot of time gone. They require 80 dungeoneering to even equip, and the tokens made during dungeoneering from 1-80 can barely afford one chaotic weapon so I doubt too many people will risk them should they be lost upon death. (IT is not yet confirmed as to whether untradables will stay on the ground like the old days, because frankly its a different era, there is practically a non-tradable piece of equipment for every slot on a runescape pker, so if untradables do not get lost on death, I fear this will be heavily abused.)

-There has already been confirmation that a dragon crossbow WILL be released eventually, but a date has not been set and no clues have been given recently to hint that its soon so I am hoping for this year at least, LOL.

-A new bow has been confirmed to release this month as well as a new set of armor. The bot is supposidly ammo-less, with similar stats as the new dungeoneering chaotic crossbow, and with the strength of dragon bolts (no firebreath though I don't think). As for the armor, its named Torva's, it has an 80 defense requirment, and it will have some sort of constitution boosting ability, but nothing further has been confirmed.

-The above armor will be dropped in the new GWD area that will also be opened up this month.

-OH YEA, forgot to mention, hp is now the constitution skill, basically your hp level is still your level, but to aid with the introduction of constitution additions and subtraction effects that Jagex wants to impliment (such as torva's armor) they have made a seperation of the two. Constitution is the skill, life points is your "HP" and is just your Constitution level multiplied by 10. Of course all weapons damage have been multiplied by 10 as well so the actual framework hasn't changed in any aspect.

-Recently the hitsplats were changed to show what type of damage a player is taking so that they can protect more effectively, also when you and a bunch of people are piling something or someone, your hitsplat shows up slightly different so that you can tell what YOU hit over anyone else.

-There is a new prayer book that is filled with "curses", this is very important if you are a higher level pker as some are very powerful. One can reduce your special attack bar, others deal damage similar to a ring of recoil or vengance, others are much better stat boots, and some even leech life and prayer points from the victim, I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST LOOKING UP THE BOOK on google or something and familiarize yourself with what you may be up against.

-The wilderness ditch is now a wall, was kind of funny because for awhile TONS of green dragon bots were piled up at the wall and couldn't pass it.

-Not really important to explain the pvp or bh systems because here about to be ousted so won't waste time there.



Well, hope that wasn't too lengthy, alot of stuff has happened in 3 years, if I think of anything else I will throw it on here but thats alot of stuff to take in so glad your back, if you want to PM me your account name Id love to pk and chat with someone else who lived through RS's glory days. It has been confirmed that overloads and extremes will not be allowed in pking because it favours melee and doesn't interlink with the combat triangle. High healing foods are said to increase there heal rate only for pking to combat the new 80+ GWD gear.

I have a main that is 91/99/75 with 70 prayer for pking. unfortuantely i have lost most of my wealth and only have around 800k left on the account!


im making a staker at the moment too, which will be fun

 

Nice that 75 defence account will be great for wildy hopefully you gain get some wealth on him most items are dropping so wont be to hard to find good gear. But with staking coming back aswell having a good staker on hand is a great idea.

If you're combat oriented, these are the three main things you should care about:
1. Chaotics - require 80 dungeoneering, endgame weapons
2. Extreme potions - req's start at 88 herblore, with overloads (the best pot in the game) at 96. Basically required for boss hunting these days
3. Turmoil - requires 95 prayer, basically piety on steroids

that seems pretty brutal. im sure ill be in the deep end, but i'll figure it out.
