What's your take on Cataclysm.

I know that Blizzard set Cataclysm to be the 'End-Game' expansion, But getting gear from heroics is so hard it's not funny. Unless you're in a guild that's not full of idiots, doing PUGS is next to impossible.

It's even harder for dps, waiting in the 45 minute long Q for a random heroic then getting in one and finding it's shit or the dungeon is really hard. Blizzard need's to buckle down a bit on the heroics and let us gear up for raids.

Without a doubt, it is 100x better than wrath of the lich king. Death Knights were literally controlling PvP upon the release of wotlk and raiding was just pathetic. Heroic Dungeons, there was nothing heroic about them. upon release you could be getting fully epic'd out withen a day of being level 80, and raid worthy. heroics took no skill to do.

with the queue, that is no surprise. it is not also based on that you are dps, it is also based on your battlegroup.

Cataclysm is not going to be the end game expansion, blizzard is planning on releasing 2 more, another and then followed by Emerald Dream, which takes on aspects back from classic.

 

Funny you say death knights controlled pvp upon release. Mages controlled pvp in wrath and in cata.

 

things are becoming more even now. Priests are absolutely OP, locks are getting a lot stronger with DoT's. there are still some classes that are still at a disadvantage (seems druids are pretty low), but hopefully with some new patches, out of all classes, mind spike needs to be dulled down incredibly (shadow priests).

 

Everything you said is indeed true, Every class in wrath was tough prot pvp was big then and is big now i canceled my sub til they stop prot from being so good in pvp. My point is Dk's were OP because they were fresh and FOTM for awhile blizz can never have complete balance.

 

i think cata is a breath of fresh air for those that did end game raiding over and over again. I for one can't wait to hit the heroics on cata .

 

Theres 2 more expansions after Cata? Didn't know that. I felt that PVPing in Wrath was pretty lame aswell. It was next to impossible to kill a Prot/Ret paladin with 2 dps let alone 1, unless you were insanely geared.

 

If you plan on pugging Heroics don't bother it will only stress you out. Then again Ive been off wow for about 3 weeks maybe things changed.

 

Nope. I'm in a guild and we got quite a few level 85's. I find pugging overly complicates any situation your trying to do, and with a new expansion and the mindsets of some of the people from wotlk "I'll do what i want" nty on pugs .

 

Pugs in cata are pointless and a waste of time, you're better off getting in a guild and working yourself up to heroic gear. Much easier and much less stress.

 

I disagree with you. Anyone who played burning crusade knows that burning crusade was a lot better than wotlk. Wotlk was just waaaay too easy. For heroics all you had to do was have a semi geared tank run in to a room and aggro everything while every other dps class in the heroic just aoes while the healer is probably hotting and tabbing out. Unlike wotlk, burning crusade actually required CC in heroics. The raids were actually a lot harder.

Personally i'm glad that their bringing back the challenge. When you clear every heroic and raid with ease the game eventually gets boring. So many guilds were able to kill the Lich King which I find stupid. The last boss in any raid should be very difficult.

People who joined in wotlk got used to the gear feeding and might have a hard time adjusting.. but eventually you'll get in a good guild and have way more fun actually killing difficult bosses. There's a lot more excitement in killing a difficult boss than killing a boss you can farm with a pug..

 

WOTLK Raids were a joke. I leveled from 1-80 and got kingslayer title within a month. I would rather things be hard as shit than easy as shit.

funny thing is all the people who say LK was a joke never downed H LK. Some don't even have kingslayer not even shadowmourne.

BTW the raids couldn't have been all that easy some people never finished naxx or uld they got free gear from emblems and justice points so ofc heroics were a joke you barely had to run anything.

no i never finished any of the listed above on any of my toons not even my main but i still had the latest gear except lk drops

 

True but how do you think they got there it was so damn easy. I ended up being one of the best healers on the server. I didn't just go get kingslayer on normal and stop there.. 25 man Heroics were a joke as well.

Try ranting on the official WoW forum that dungeons are actually hard now and you want them the way they used to be, lol.

 

Dungeons are fine now as i said they just threw us into the fray with no protection or help and made it hell. Only bads want to revert or play WOTLK still IMO because they don't want to think they wanna press 2 keys or spam 1 heal and afk.

 

100 will probably be the top level, although I could see them releasing patches for a while, or expanding the lore eventually to keep the game going and making money.

If you know any of the lore, you'd know that there's far too much left unfinished. Lich King was just a puppet... Deathwing is just a puppet.... so far... you've fought puppets .


I've really enjoyed Cata... I miss Dalaran though.
